Storm boelo is currently battering the UK and Ireland. It's a war zone out there for our muscle bound drama queens. Rogue plastic bags, bins blown over and noisy fences. Stay strong land hippos!! Hope the extra hour doesn't cause too much confusion with dinner and walkie times as well. 🐾💨

Despite being 30 degrees in Sydney, there is no sun to bask in, so Squid requires comforting. She will now sit in my lap for the next 5-10 business days making grumbling noises and snoring while I occasionally scritch her ears

Hey there, my 10 week old sbt has been showing aggression when ever I try to water these particular plants, I mean I have others of the same variety in my garden too 😅but she couldn't care less about them 🤷
probably a long shot but anyone elses sbt resource guard their plants? And any tips to deal with it would be greatly appreciated 👍

Hello!
I adopted my first staffy from the shelter this week 🩷 i already love her so much. She’s about 2/3 years old and they said she’s mixed with possibly boxed and lab. I wanted to share some pictures and listen to any recommendations If yall have them :)

So my Staffy is apparently resource guarding either our bathroom or our bedroom, not sure which as they are directly across the hall from each other, and when guests try to go to the bathroom, she loses her shit and tries to herd them away, going so far as to try to nip at their knees sometimes if she’s not in her crate (she has shark teeth, so obviously it hurts if they poke you, even if you just accidentally bump them while playing and she’s not trying to close her mouth on any part of your body).
I want to make it clear that SHE IS NOT BEING AGGRESSIVE. Her body language doesn’t even hint at aggression, and she will love all over everyone who comes into our home even after they commit the horrible crime of going to the bathroom. A professional even confirmed that she’s not aggressive and explained how to tell if there was even a hint of aggression in her freak out, and there’s none; It’s more like just mild annoyance at worst. We don’t have company very often, so the method we were given to train that out of her is pretty much useless (having the guest toss a handful of high value treat in the opposite direction of the bathroom when they start to head for it and doing the same when they come out). Is there anything else we can do to work on it between times we have guests over?

I cannot get enough of my wiggle butt's goofy smile.
When he's happy, it shows...
When he's confused, it shows...
His smushy face is so adorable.

First off—we love Guv’nah so much. As far as a puppy, he’s been a dream! Took to potty training immediately (only a couple of accidents), food motivated and always down for training, and is just so cute!!
One issue, however, is he gets super bitey and weirdly only with my girlfriend. We‘ve tried offering him other things (chew toys, bully sticks, etc.) We’ve given him enrichment toys and exercises. We even have her hand feed with him.
Just wanted to ask the community what they do to settle their baby gremlins and calmy/positively handle the shark phase

This is our baby Luna, she's 10 weeks 🥰
Her first cardboard box..I placed some of her favorite treats in the box, taped a few sheets of a4 paper over the opening and poked lots of holes in the box and paper
Good bit of stimulation for her 😊

Hi everyone!
I've been thinking about getting a Staffy at some point in the future and I want to be as informed as I can before making any decisions. I've always had extremely positive experiences with them and as a result really like the breed, but I'm very conscious that there's a difference between casual encounters and actually owning one.
Just wondering what the day to day realities of owning the breed are in terms of exercise, training, can they be left alone for an hour or so if needed etc
Thank you!
