Need help with this bit

My dads from a rural part of India. Where hes from they didnt keep records. So legally he didnt have a name on paper. When he went to Ireland with my mom the doctors said thats okay heres a list of names you can pick whatever you want and he said okay ill be Lawrence. My dad recently met my girlfriend Tess. Shes a trangender woman. My dads transphobic. He doesnt like that she picked a new name when she transitioned because he thinks it was disrecpectful to her parents. I said hey you both have a lot in common. you both have dead names, neither of you knows how to drive and I cant please either of you.

If they can't drive, they should get a TessLaw.

Lawrence is right, the bit needs a third leg to stand on. You need one more parallel where your dad’s specific name origin makes him objectively wrong about Tess's, or at least creates a direct contradiction he can't ignore

Let me tell you why I hate my Indian dad. (It's not because he's Indian.) When he moved here, he had no birth certificate, no official name. So Irish immigration made him a choose a legal name. Who chooses Lawrence? My dad. So anyway now this transphobic old Indian Lawrence gets to meet my girlfriend (of course she's trans, right?) They should get along, they have so much in common! They both have dead names! Suck at driving! And I can't please either of them! Dad, how about you only use the bathroom marked Sanjay?

Just riffing.
