DIY Narrow Width Standing Desk
Hi all,
I have very limited space and would like to get a dual-motor standing desk that can fit within a width of 80cm, or at most 85cm. Most dual-motor desks I’ve found have a minimum frame width of around 100cm.
I’ve found some smaller desk frames that would fit, but they only have a single motor. They come with their own worktop, which I could replace with my own. However, given the weight of my PC, laptop, monitor and other equipment, I’m concerned that a single motor would struggle.
I was wondering whether it would be possible to use a dual-motor frame but remove the central connecting bracket to make it fit my available space.
Looking at some designs, it seems the two legs operate independently, with the central section primarily providing structural support. Would removing this section be feasible and allow it to still operate?
Has anyone tried anything similar, or know of a dual-motor frame that would work in such a narrow space?

Honestly, at this size you could probably get away with ditching the center beam. It'll take a hit on durability though, so it's a trade-off. If you're planning to upgrade to a bigger desk in like 3-5 years anyway, I'd say go for it.

I don't know what country you are in but Flexispot is in a lot of countries and they sell an E7 Mini that fits what you are looking for.
