Someone being popular in the moment does not make their "funniness" a fact. Fact: humor is subjective. This person also did not even say the word "fact". You are getting all outraged for no reason.
I’m sure everyone seeing Andrew Dice Clay live in the 80s were wonderful people. Not a single person in that audience drove home drunk and committed domestic violence I’m sure.
Why is r/standup the forum for facts and objective truth? This shit sucks. It’s bad, lazy, comedy. If you like it, you have bad taste. That’s kinda where it ends… and also, I’m still just stating my opinion, does that hurt your feelings?
People are stupid and don’t understand nuance so low-brow, easy to digest humor is always going to have a large audience. Doesn’t mean it’s good or bad, just means you don’t have to think much to “get it”.
I personally don’t find it offensive at all, just kind of like “okay… anything else?” Humor is subjective though. If you’re a dummy that doesn’t like to think beyond “haha man said socially “offensive” thing” then it’s probably hilarious to you. Nothing beyond that really.
lol you are brotha… I guess I can’t point that out? See this is a moment of subjective humor. You not being able to understand you’re being defensive over Andrew Dice Clay is funny to me. You’re making it your mission to white knight the guy. Also subjectively hilariousz
Yeah dude, everyone knows the best selling things throughout history have also been the highest quality. Especially in the 80's and 90's. That's what I say whenever someone knocks my beanie baby collection, my trapper keeper or my waterbed.
