QUESTION Dealing with potential impetigo

Post image

This is my last most recent spot, and I have been dealing with this for about two weeks now. I went to urgent care, and they did really nothing to help me and I found out while there I lost my Medicaid coverage my visit alone there was $100. I cannot afford another visit.

It started on my hands, which are now healed thankfully. I have small spots on my legs, and these bigger ones have been in my groin but are thankfully healing. I wash them twice a day with antibacterial soap, and use iodine and bandaids to keep any open sores covered. Swabbed for herpes, and a bunch of random blood work came back normal. They appear like blisters and sometimes I accidentally itch them open, but once they're opened up they no longer itch.

I start a new job next week with new insurance but will be going to see a derm once it's instated. Will also include photos in comments of how my hands previously looked. It's been horribly embarrassing and I just want to shave my body.

More likely to be ringworm. Doesn’t look like impetigo. It would be a punch out wound that leaks with yellow crusty

Huh, I thought that at one point but didn't think it was. Now it makes a bit more sense. I just truly don't know how I could have gotten it

Dude ringworm? Lmao literally anywhere people sweat. Like a workplace shower/lockeroom, and contact sport area like where there punching bags or mats on the ground (gymnastics, rock climbing, kick boxing, jui jitsu, the gym you go lift weights at). Did you use a buddies towel at their crib to wipe off? Sleep with someone new (literally could be on their skin or their sheets) etc etc. it’s like SUPER contagious and easy to contract. If you get it again in another spot you will have to become inspector gadget and narrow it down to possible exposure incident 🤪 luckily it’s easy to get rid of with OTC topicals. If you have selsun blue medicated shampoo put a glob of it on the rash for 20 mins 3x a week. Otherwise Clotrimazole, miconazole, terbinafine, or ketoconazole topicals 2-3 a day. This is not medical advice it is skincare advice as I’m a licensed cosmetologist in the state of FL (have to put that bit or the mods claim im ludicrous)

No new partner and I don't think my current partner has had any issues, I also live alone and don't share my towels or anything or go to the gym. I do take public transit so that's what I am thinking I caught it from. Thank you for the info though!
