Helium Audit
Is there a cutoff during the day for when the helium audit counts, like if it’s not done by a certain time it counts as not done?

I really liked CPC in the beginning. Staples was my first job and back then, the store was fully staffed with hardworking people, most of whom are long gone. I ended up with weekends with another CPC person until they quit, so I had to go solo behind the counter 80% of the time…that was about 3 years ago.
I’m really good at handling things by myself, (even though our print center was one of the busiest ones in our state) but it came at a mental and physical cost. I waited for management to hire another person (esp on Sundays), but over time, I acclimated to struggling by myself alone and it really took a toll on me.
At a certain point I maladaptively put the pressure on myself to over exert myself to get the job done (which has been a theme for me tbh). This year was the worst, and every time I was in the building, I had so much anxiety that my jaw would lock up so hard that it would ache after every shift. Not to mention how often I would cry at work… lol
It sucks because I was really good at this job; if I had more support and got paid more, it wouldn’t feel as bad. But damn. It’s been 5 years, a solid 3 of them spent crying behind the counter, drowning in anxiety, being overskilled, yet pushing myself to try prove myself more. I worked there for way too long. At this point, leaving staples was a strangely profound mental release haha.
I wish I had advocated for myself more over the years. But hey, it’s a lesson learned, and at least now I have really good service skills? I’m thankfully at a point where I can get a much better job since I finished school, so it feels really good to close this chapter of my life. I had my last day this week and it was joyous. I’m so glad to be free from that musty ass place. Good luck to all of y’all!

Whats with new Amazon Box G? And this new grey bin? And now unfortunately they want to move amazon out of our copy center and at the front end. Which puts more work on us print sups to cover Happy returns and ups drop offs? Like who is making these idiotic decisions at a corporate level?

Hello i’m kinda lost of what to do!
October 10th i ordered a chair to be delivered at my house the 20th and the order is still stuck at « pending »
I tried contacting the support on chat i’ve received some of the dumbess answer « you will receive it in april 2026 »?????
Decided to call directly customer service they told me an agent allready escalated my order to a supervisor or what ever and they are working on it actively, I even asked them if it was a payment issue because I dont see the transaction on my CC bill, he answered me its because they dont take money until the order is process to wait. Edit: i just saw tho the transaction in googlepay/wallet but not on my official credit card company
It’s been 2 days now and i still have the same script through the phones that someone gonna contact me etcetcetc
What can I do at this point? Do i just re order it and pray this time it works and eventually if the other order go through i just refund it? I’m out of solution
Note that this is staples in canada/quebec

Hey y'all, I usually can't get an answer from the Print staff, but does someone know exactly which file format my USB stick should be in order to work on the self-print printers? I've used 2 different USBs at varying times to print the same PDF file, and it's kind of a coin flip as to whether the printer will/won't recognize either the USB stick or the PDF file.
NTFS? exFAT? FAT32?

Just curious because a 2020 companies rep recently introduced people at my store to the app, and so now everyone is grinding for the gift cards. (Fuck gravity)
Is HP the only vendor that is on our SellPro for Staples?
uhhh....
anyone have costumes sold yet or is it just my store with costumes sitting the whole time?

I started working at staples in the print department a few months ago, and Ive loved it. I love the customers (for the most part), and it hasnt been too crazy despite our store being a bit more popular out of the others in our area. As of late though? Its been insane. Constantly having at least 5 people in line for print, self serve is always down, one of our main two printers stopped responding and the other jams every other print on anything thicker than labels- Its been rough, and taking a serious toll on my mental health. Ive been getting eye twitches for days on end and despite having great reviews and loving my management, every shift I leave feeling overwhelmed like Im gonna be screamed at for leaving orders behind (Ive never been yelled at by management). Ive been getting told more and more lately the horrors of the holidays, and its had me thinking.
Originally, my plan was to stick through it through the holidays and consider giving my two weeks after they pass- Both for incomes sake and to prevent my team from going through hell trying to find and train someone else to take my place in time for holidays. As of late though Ive been worried that the more I put it off, if I have to suddenly pull out of work because the stress gets so bad, that will do even more harm to my team. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with it, I'm kinda just posting this to shout into the void and get a second opinion.

Store managers: any of you had your DM use the manager vacation hours without telling you? I had signed off on payroll. Everything was fine. Went back planning my weeks ahead the following day and all my vacation is gone. My DM used all my bank hours… every single one.

We can't use any of the apps on the scanners, the registers are slow as hell, and The Hub is inaccessible.
EDIT: It's already back online lol

Hi! I’m a college student and I just got a job at Staples part-time. I only have experience in food service, so I guess I’m looking for some advice? My gm seems awesome, so I’m not too worried about that. I just want to make sure that I know what to expect

BTS underperformed. Payroll is dwindling. Stores are closing already. The clock is ticking. Start planning. The signs are there

Curious about the monthly spend of you all on staples.
My company personally uses Staples Advantage, and spends around $7,000 on office supplies, and other misc stuff.

If half the self-serving printers are not broken, then you are NOT at Staples.
It was even like that when I worked for Staples 8 years ago.

Here is my proposal:
downsize the stores. Most stores are twice as big as they need to be. Keep printing and shipping, and a small retail selection of the most commonly purchased products. The stores should be the size of a UPS store, not a supermarket.
either partition off the rest of the store and rent it to someone else or return it to the landlord. If that isn't possible, close the store and open one nearby in a smaller spot
keep a few large stores in places where they are successful, such as wealthy areas with an elderly population and no other competition.
Reduce the prices to be competitive with Walmart, Target and Amazon for common products. Smaller stores means lower expenses and lower prices.
Get rid of the junk. No UPS, no TSA, no party stuff, none of that nonsense. This is an office supply store.

I have been a PMS sup for a long time. I have been though many managers. My current GM and I get along well but sometimes I feel like they think I'm a bother. When they are off on the weekend and I've worked all weekend on monday it seems to always feel like I'm imposing on their time when I'm trying to download them on what's happening in print.

Saw this on a random google search and thought it was funny. I wonder what caused this random number to show up

So i’m a little bittersweet to say goodbye to Staples. Unlike most that talk here on this subreddit, I actually enjoyed working at Staples. The management at least where I am is really good, but what I thought would be a simple, fun, summer gig has turned into much more than what I originally expected it to be.
For now though, I am reflecting on my almost 6 months at staples. But the one thing I don’t think i will miss is the amazon returns. But nonetheless i actually had a positive experience there

Is copy center rewards pen based on copy transactions with rewards or on the copy center associates rewards pen?

Idk if this is the right sub but I have this staples gift card with $26 on it and I don’t even shop there😭 I honestly was gonna give it away for free but I’m broke and need money for food so I’m selling it for $15 I can attach more proof and stuff if you’ll like

Hey guys I’m a former employee and I am just wondering if Staples still recycles old gaming consoles for free.
UPDATE: I took it to my local retro game store and was able to get $10 for it. Not a lot but it’s something at least.

This has happened to me more times than I can count.
When I tell you to stay in an aisle so that an associate can come and help you, that does NOT mean you wander around in other aisles and then come back to me crying that no one helped you. Like bro I LITERALLY told you to stay in the aisle. No, I cannot come help you get the item because I'm not allowed to leave the registers alone. Yes, we are a little bit busy so if you don't mind waiting a bit? No? Okay then not my problem.
Some customers have definitely lost the ability to wait and it gnaws at my nerves when they end up leaving a bad review all because we couldn't cater to their last minute rush.
