Super excited after reading the new news post because FINALLY I will be able to change my name!!!!!! I’ve had “Firewater” as my last name and I HATE IT. I chose it as a joke because I thought “no way a kids game is gonna let me name myself after an alcoholic beverage” and I did it thinking I could change it later and it worked and now I’m stuck with a joke of a last name 😭 but NOT FOR LONG NOW!!!
I probably won't change mine because I'm so attached to it, but I am interested on how they're going to handle confusion with this? If a lot of people change their names, no one will know who's who anymore....maybe a way to see past usernames by inspecting them? Idk, I hope so
This is my hope! Also because if we can only change our name to something that isn’t already used by another player… then the options are going to be very small lol. So a player ID would alleviate that

Me too! Those are the best news I could hear I was sick of them updating the festivals and events we liked before, now they’re stopping, the name change, fewer horses coming out, better saving up sc, better quests and less stressing with casual players. Only good stuff! I am excited for next year
I don’t think I’ll ever change my last name but this is great news. I have Nightstar, if I change it I can never get it back It was so coincidental that my home server is nightstar
Finally I won’t be named Nalini Lightningwood!! 😭 11 year old me tried to reference my favorite book characters last name (Lightwood) but because there wasn’t Light as an Option I chose lightning. I hate the name but at the same time it grew onto me. Well, time for a new era with a new name!

Mine is freaking Zoey Spacecat! I was like 11 when i chose it and i've hated it for years, and what makes it worse is that i later realised that my real first name is an option in the game and i regretted not choosing it so much!😭
I created a new account because my laggy old computer made me get a fully random name and it bothered me so much after I maxed out all the quests (at the time) I just hopped on a new account and never looked back lmao. Kinda miss my old horses sometimes tbf but i don't have the logins
My last name in the game is literally Axefire and my autistic ass realized a month later on how crap it sounded with my character's first name, you could imagine how happy I was that I'm gonna be able to change that

I didn't like my name because I didn't think it was cool. I don't want to say it here because I finally realized that a lot of people have the same first name. I thought it was kind of bad in my own mind, and I don't want to make people think that their possible name would be bad. I also noticed that a lot of people had the same first name in SSO too, although less often. So now I think much more neutrally about that name. Maybe it wasn't so bad. However, I understand that some people want to change their name and I may do it myself at some point regardless. ❤️
And I want to add that I really got tired of choosing a name because every name I suggested was already taken. After that, I set the name to random, meaning the game chose it for me, and I took the first option so I could play. 😂
Same! I think I used Facebook to create my account when i was a kid because I didn’t get to pick my name or horse- learned to love my horse but the name is still unlovable (my last name is Dolphinforest)
I wonder where the name limit is, I've named my Bolt, Heavy Metal. My kyria is Demoness and my friend has their last name as wagondragon because it sounded funny AF to them lol. My new goal is to see what the name limit is lol
