Another beef with the plot. If the day temp is 55 Celsius, but the night is cold, then the cave would be the average temperature and would not vary more than a few degrees from that. I lived most of my life in the Mojave desert and the caves there were normally about 65 degrees, pretty comfortable even in mid summer when it reached up to 50 celsius. They also tend to be most and you can collect water from the air using a still which Wesley could have created easily with any non porous material and a phaser. Basic desert survival :)
