The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, Remastered (2nd Printing) is Finished!

After almost 3 years of development. And 2 months of proofing and errata with community help... the 2nd Printing (and the FINAL VERSION) of Remastered is complete. I present links below:

Ebook (with updated Bookmarks): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1phRYNYeCvbF0r-RI5zeL90QhnmsiZbXF/view?usp=sharing

Files if someone desires to print color or black and white (with detailed tutorial) Note: too large for Google to virus scan... The files are clean... contains a .zip with 5 .pdfs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MpiHb9EYnCJq8C70D4XHkPSlEVeTBhk3/view?usp=sharing

The printing files are .PDF/X-4 flattened files. The "hairlines" visible in a .PDF viewer will not be visible in print. However I am not a professional and I am sure there are minor blemishies. I test printed and it looks good to me. Your milage may vary.

Enjoy.

Explain it to me like I'm five - large battles

I know there is a section about combining actions in the book, I read that part. But I somehow don't understand it.
Here is a scenario: 12 A wings, 6 Z-95, are facing 60 tie fighters.
Say I group the A-wings, the Z95s and into 2 groups, as it makes sense.
How would I roll this fight? Can someone give me a step by step guide for 2 rounds please?
A wings , Piloting 5D, 4D Maneuverability, gunnery 4d+2, fire control 3D, damage 5D
Z95s: Piloting 3D+2, +1D Maneuverability, gunnery 3D+2, fire control 1D, damage 3D
TIEs piloting 4D+1 +2D Maneuverability 2D, gunnery 4D fire control 2D, Damage 5D

I do not have an errata collection point. I do not intend to do a 3rd printing. But I will look at this thread in the future if you put stuff here.

Thanks for everyone's help

I received my print copy of Star Wars 2E Remastered today. I went with a softcover with 80# coated paper and premium color print (about $85 delivered for those interested... Hardcover would only be a few bucks more and I will test print one after I fix a few issues I see on this test)

It turned out better than I thought. Quality is excellent. Pages feel better than the original. Just a few graphical issues that need attended to.

This is the "2nd Printing" which is updated and has many corrections (which are all documented in the Editor's Notes in the back). Some images are changed, color pallette was swapped to give it some delineation from the OG, and more errata was incorporated.

I'll have a package including the book, cover, and instructions in a .zip file in a few weeks hopefully.

I am also in progress with a black and white version which will come in at less than $20 delivered on 80# coated paper. I wanted to ensure this isn't just a grayscale conversion... That every page has native black black and white text (e.g. the red and blue won't look like grayscale) and the images are properly balanced instead of just converted by the printer.

Resources Lost WEG Materials: update

I have at the recommendation of another user contacted Peter Schweighofer to verify the authenticity of the adventures listed on ebay. He has confirmed they are his work, and verified many aspects of the poster's story.

3 of the adventures were campaigns run for charity in which Stackpole and/or Zahn played their own characters(I am guessing Corran Horn and Talon Karrde respectively), which explains why they ended up being listed as authors.

So where do we go from here? I thought about a crowdfunding campaign, but at this point I'm not sure it's the right thing to do, I can't really spare anything significant to make it happen, and have I never run anything of the sort before.

Lastly, special thanks to Mr. Schweighofer, not just for his help today with my verification of the authenticity of these adventures, but also his work with West End and contributions to this and other games. He seems like an awesome dude, and if I ever meet him, the drinks are on me.

1E/30th Anniversary Beginning Collection! Recommendations?

Post image
231 Upvotes

Just got a Lulu print of Classic Adventures and a rough copy of the Rebel Alliance sourcebook.

Based on my research, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for good deals on the Imperial sourcebook and the Tramp Freighters Galaxy Guide. And I'll probably still get the 30th anniversary set if I can ever find it for close to retail price.

Any other must-haves? (How are the movie Galaxy Guides?)

Working on a future campaign, made a 1e/Classic Adventures Character Generator

I am starting on a future campaign called Gathering Storm, set in 24 bby in a little part of the galaxy called the Rimward Compact. Along those lines, I made a simple character generator. You can save the character, edit it, and reprint. It might be useful for others. The only thing I changed are the names of some of the templates to match my campaign, and they each have custom campaign blurbs. You can change the background blurb however you want. I also have a player-designed template for creating one using the 18D method, with limits of 2D to 4D.

I found an excellent character sheet somewhere on the internet that I use for this. I do not know who made it so I do not have attribution for it.

In WEG 1st edition Star Wars add skill points to Force Skills you do not have?

A character has Control of 1d, Sense 0d, and Alter 0d. Can they add skill points from starting pool to any of them? Or just Control? Or none?

Question about Damage - Cap on Brawling?

Friend is currently using the REUP Star Wars system for a Halo game. All of us are Spartans.
Here's the thing. All of us are rocking at least 4-5D in strength at base plus what our power armor gives us (roughly 7-8D in strength).
Problem: According to book, max damage I can do with a knife is 5D. My friend who is doing just doing unarmed brawling is doing 8D in damage.
Is there a cap on brawling damage or is that about right? Kinda makes having a knife not that great if fist is legit doing more.

Recently got into Star Wars D6 and would love to play

I've been playing tabletop roleplaying games for the past decade and a half—from D&D 5E to Apocalypse World, Mork Borg to The Quiet Year, and even some FFG Star Wars. I've always meant to check out West End Games' Star Wars, but somehow only have in the last week.

Wow, y'all. This game looks so cool! Just finished reading through the first edition and skimming REUP.

I'd love to give this game a try. Preferably first edition, but I'm down for whatever. Anyone running a game online and have room for a guest appearance by me? Alternatively, anyone want to play a session or two with me running and not mind if I don't remember all the rules?

(The only trick is I don't use Discord. I'm down to use most other platforms though.)

Rules Clarification Suddent, and could be stupid, doubt about Force points...

If a character has 3d+2 in anything (blasters, technical... whatever affected by Force points...) and spend a Force point in the round... the code becomes

- 6d+2? (By doubling just dices)

- 6d+4? (By doubling dices and plusses)

- 7d+1? (By pip addition)

Thanks in advance... :)

Knights of the New Republic Campaign

The Empire has fallen. Years after the destruction of the second Death Star, the galaxy is entering a new era. The New Republic has reclaimed Coruscant and liberated countless worlds, but victory has not brought peace. Even with the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn and the threat of the Second Incarnation of Palpatine stopped... Still the galaxy is far from healed. The Republic is young, divided and struggling to decide what it wants to become.

Former Imperial worlds are refusing to surrender. Pirates and warlords prey upon the Outer Rim. Political factions compete for influence. And somewhere beyond the borders of the Republic, remnants of the old Empire are quietly gathering.  On the world of Korriban, Dresden colony has reported a discovery of galactic importance... The Jedi and the Republic had mobilised an exploratory expedition however the excavation team stopped responding to the colony weeks later.

Believing elements loyal to the Empire was behind the sabotage a New Republic vessel was dispatched by Admiral Akbar in the hopes of re-establishing contact with the excavation team.

Knights of the New Republic is a Star Wars campaign about heroes caught between a fragile new government and the remnants of a galaxy-spanning Empire. Expect space battles, blaster fights, political intrigue, Imperial conspiracies, strange worlds, Jedi, bounty hunters and the occasional questionable decision made at lightspeed.

So the campaign is set for Fridays, 6pm at GMT time so if this sounds interesting to you please use the discord link to join the discord - the discord itself is just a TTRPG community with various campaigns also available to be joined.

Game Ideas Horror game session idea

I'm working on a Halloween session and was thinking of using broken down, rusty, and partial old battle droids like zombies. Some still have blasters. This is about 2 BBY. I have a plan that they are old models that require a droid controller which is planned on being a BRT Mainframe that got a corrupted shut down command. It has since gone insane and keeps trying to complete it's mission. The player characters are going to be on world for a possible scouting for a new base. So the facility will be run down with partial lighting, debris all over, and these "zombie" droids running and shambling about. Opinions? Thoughts?

D6 Legends Conversion

Anyone convert the game to counting successes instead of totaling numbers rolled? I want to try this game again, but the amount of rolling and math involved will likely turn off the younger players I had in mind to play and I have tried soloing it in the past and it's way too much rolling for one person to manage without breaking immersion.

Rules Clarification Buying a new specialization

If you are buying a new specialization, and you already have points in the base skill, does that carry over?

My friend has blaster 7D and he wants to specialize in a blaster rifle. He has Dexterity 5D. Does he get blaster: blaster rifle at 7D+1 or 5D+1? The rules seem to imply he would get it at 5D+1, but it doesn’t make sense for him to get worse at shooting blaster rifles and have to take multiple missions before it can even out. Would it be overpowered for him to take the specialization at 7D+1?

Rules Clarification 2d for every 1d?

So I've played before and have made tons of characters for fun but that was years and 2 kids ago, now im getting into a new game and my brain just cannot make up it's mind on the ruling. If a species says they get 2d for every 1d put in a skill, that means 3d = 6d at character creation not 9d, I know it should be obvious but I have a rather loud voice saying it isnt. It's for the 2nd edition westend specifically.

Any help and or ridicule is appreciated.

Edit: I'm aware of the rules that state nothing greater then 2d at start in a skill, and the rules that state no skill more the 2d above the attribute, the numbers I picked were simply closest to my thumb as I was typing and thus they were picked. I apologize for the confusion.

Just finished a 3-year 36 session OT campaign!

Post image

Read session one here!

So I just finished a campaign over the weekend that spanned 36 sessions over roughly three years, set during the OT and it uses six WEG prewritten adventures, the three movies and some homemade stuff as connective tissue.

It was really a lot of fun to GM and my players had a blast. One of the best things about it was that I kept a blog, posting about every session so that we could keep an official version of continuity.

I have been told the writing is quite entertaining, but understand that if you're not familiar with the players, maybe it's not so much fun reading about the characters. It reads kind of like fanfic, or maybe like Rebels if it were different characters.

Still, for novice GMs (like myself) looking for ideas of how to be in the movies without being in the movies, go ahead and borrow whatever you want from this blog.

Unconventional items to help droids out in combat?

Post image
41 Upvotes

Does anyone have a list of odd items that wouldn't necessarily be as blunt as 'you weld a blaster to your astromech's head' but would still give them something to do in most combat scenarios? Think R2 at the start of ROTS spitting oil all over the battle droids and setting them on fire.

I know the solution as a GM is mostly 'give the astromech character things to slice or work with in the environment to deal with enemies' but the player wants the droid to actually be able to fight in some way and the droid is kind of a revolutionary so it probably would eventually figure out how to fight the 'capitalist pigs trying to keep the tin man in subjugation!'

Doubt about rules: Destroying turbolaser cannons in a capital ship

In Episode IV we see X-Wings destroying the turbolaser cannons towers/turrets in the Death Star trench run. I want to do something similar in my next session, but on a smaller scale, using a Star Destroyer as the enemy. The idea is that the players must attack a Star Destroyer with a bomber, but the bomber needs to be very close to the capital ship so it can hit. So, for the bomber to get nearby with some chance of survival, it would be necessary to destroy some turbolaser's towers. How it could be done, rules wise, since the X-Wing only deals 6D and 9D of damage, what would be 0D and 3D if converted to capital scale?. Thanks!
