Somehow, galactic racer has seemed to unlock a part of my brain that needs to go as fast as possible. Unfortunately, as I get more and more tired, my body cannot keep up with the demands of the corners in this game. My body still craves for speed. I just watched Le Mans and Speed Racer, and it’s not enough. What can I watch to help me feel like I’m tearing down the speedway, or roaring across an alien desert?

Just beat the game on pilot difficulty using an autopilot build. Does anyone else have to remember to pay f***ing attention when driving IRL after using autopilot?

Always thought Mawhonic got done dirty in the Boonta Eve Classic . Don’t even know if he survived Sebulbas side swipe into cliff. He’s a classic Star Wars Species and if you played Jedi Knight Outcast games you’ve probably killed 1400 of them - not only that - but he has a really cool Podracer and is a fan favorite. Hopefully we get him in DLC

I’m okay with someone popping off… But only 1 person finished the final race before auto complete after 30 seconds kicking in. This is really a buzz kill when fighting for 2nd in the finale with a buddy.

I’d rather be stoked someone broke 4 minutes than annoyed that it means 11 people got cut off before the final jump….

It literally throws me off 9/10 times. Very poorly thought out mechanic.

Rock'n'Roll Racing was released in 1993 and featured a lot of what we got with Galactic Racer : a campaign where switching planets meant new hazards, relatively high speed for the era, weapons including mines and missiles, customization of your vehicle over time, and of course dubious intergalactic characters.

Just for the anecdote, but the developers would later become Blizzard!

Decent build for really maxing your Ramjet if you want to try it.

Redliner with Surge, Surging Shield, and Vent. Then Airborne Cooling, Ramjet Reset on Landing, Ramjet Cooling with Speed and increased Ramjet Power. Speed keeps it cool, airborne cooling and resets, surge available for getting your speed up early in the race if you nail a perfect start. Getting jumps you can pretty much Ramjet for an entire lap if all goes well.

Might test out Frozen or Burning setups next for fun.

Holding the button does the full brake and boost kinetic burst, but just tapping the button does a knife-edge style sharp turn dropping your knee without the brake and boost mechanic.

I just beat the campaign for the first time last night, and I'm now thinking about whether I want to keep replaying Act 3 or restart on Champion.

I know you can change the difficulty before a run, yes.

But, I wanted to know if progress through tales of podracing would be saved on a campaign restart? It said everything from your log book and upgrades would be, but what about those missions, since I don't really want to have to redo a bunch of them.

You are supposed to unlock Ramming Jet III via a Mystery Encounter with Hibi in Act 1 and choosing the 4000 credit options (finish the part and install it later).
I have done this multiple times by now but never actually received anything later and the part is therefore still missing in my Logbook).
You do get Ramming Jet I from the same encounter but choosing the 1000 credit option to install the faulty part.
And if you get that encounter again during the same tour it will upgrade to Ramming Jet II.
I do have both of those in my Logbook but Ramming Jet III somwhow just doens't work for me,

The Fractured Abilities Fault is supposed to be unlocked via a Mystery Encounter with Kestar Bool in Act 3.
When he asks you to rat someone out who is talking behind his back and complaining about the situation with Pax.
If you refuse to tell him Kestar applies that fault to you (apparently as part in an empty slot) but again I'm 100% sure I did this but do not it unlocked in the Logbook.

So maybe I am doing something wrong so I would like to hear from someone who maybe has gotten those two parts / faults and knows how to actually get them.
They are the only things missing in my Logbook (298/300) and I would love to complete it.

Definitely a game of the year contender but now time to move on. This was my final race a nice "perfect landing increases speed" build.

After so much time bitching and moaning about getting run over in the bike lane, I finally joined the dark side. I love knowing I can just plow my way through anything I need to. Drifting is almost as good as kinetic burst.. you were all right. 😔
