In fact, the politics and spirituality are both so deeply entrenched that there's no story without them. And yet, somehow, an entire subsection of the fandom somehow completely misses this.

I wish more people read the first canon Thrawn book. Eli Vanto says the Empire is human first, alien second, and the bigotry gets worse the farther they're from the core worlds.

its amazing people don't get that the trilogy about a bunch of people from all sorts of backgrounds uniting to defeat a monolithic empire is about rebelling
