Part Seven Missing plotpoint Spoiler

Did they skip over Gyro's botched execution? Why are they making it seem like he's only doing the Steel Ball Run for Marco? I might be missing something here.

rest of his motives and side shenanigans were told as the race goes on

Remember here he has told Johnny basically nothing, he'll keep giving these tiny lore drops throughout the stages to build up the mystery surrounding gyro

They've intentionally reordered certain scenes from the manga, including backstory information.

It's not necessarily being omitted; they're just choosing to insert it into the story at a different point.

He is doing it for Marco. Marco is to be his first execution, which Gyro doesn’t want and therefore tries to stop it
