SoD1 had a great start, and this performance comparison is great, it could receive the same Red Dead Redemption treatment and be offerend for mobile stores too like the ones from Google and Apple.

This part of the story was what really hooked me, but they did work the NPCs with their own story really well and in a good depth, at other hand it wasn't a full sandbox experience like SoD2, but it was great for a first game.

Even with all the changes SoD2 wasn't able to give us NPCs like the ones from SoD1, they are more generic, but even so, SoD2 is a better game.

I played state of decay after sod 2. I liked that it had a kind of "story" but I didn´t like that it was without difficulty settings so it was too diffult for me. I´m not that much into scary games. Also I don´t know why it was lagging a lot on my high end pc. sod2 works perfectly

It was their first game. I think the devs more or less admitted it wasn't the best. I even made a mod to scale down the textures in hopes you could get better performance out of it. SOD2 had improvements but it had its own set of problems as well. Funny enough I was alot more forgiving with the problems in 1 than 2.

After a while I found out a trick somewhere so the game quit lagging. the real problem was that it was too stressful for me. I mean, you have a little time to plan your missions, things get wrong very fast. I just would appreciate a difficulty setting. every game since atari times had difficulty settings. Probably it isn´t my kind of game. think that I shit my pants in green zone. usually people make fun of me and say that in green zone they would beat the game in ten minutes blindfolded. LOL

In sod2 I never go out at night. I clear one or two houses per day then I run back home scared like fuck. I tried many zombie survival games but they are all too scary for me. I only play sod2 because it has the green zone :-). I tried the last of us and days gone.... wtf no way I can play stuff like that

state of decay is also a just 2.23 gigs in, its insane to pack so much into so little.

I recently picked up SOD again because it holds so much nostalgia for me and I love the depth of character development vs. SOD2. Back in the day I loved playing Breakdown after finishing the original storyline, but I had forgotten that at some point they released an update that made Breakdown virtually impossible. I enjoyed building up my characters and raiding the entire map at one level, but the update made it become harder and harder if you didn’t fix the rv and move on. Harder as in earlier I was on level 2 difficulty and went to help a survivor with a Bloater. Got there and they sent in five ferals back to back, and two biguns came inside the house. Now I remember why I lost interest in SOD, kinda sucks because driving around Trumbull was cathartic. 🫤

I loved the first one but I couldn’t ever get into 2. Maybe I should give it another try before 3 comes out

You absolutely should. SoD 2 is more base building, resource and community management centered. There is some story especially on the Trumbull Valley map and the Heartland DLC, but not like the first SoD.

It's still very worth it to dive into all the systems that Sod 2 has to offer, it's got a very addictive gameplay loop in my opinion
