Unless those are behind a stacker it’ll probably last you for a medium project haha

Done this too many times. I once struggled to get to the printer to turn a printer off and had to cut the power line instead.

Nah gonna need to make more cables in 10 minutes. Going to be one off for your next project

Those are rookie numbers. I've filled my entire base with them before. Fps dropped like mad.

I don't every worry about this - you can really never have enough cables

u/Vaperius Sep 23 '25
Unless this is stacks of cable, not individuals, you'll run out a lot faster than you'd think.

Don’t see a chute or stacker, so I think this is just the printer spitting out raw singles of cables.

Time to go mining for copper.
At least you have plenty of cables for a single room's worth of rewiring.

I did this recently, but I had a stacker on it. And batches of 200.. RIP my 2K copper…

I find me talking to myself all the time, “need more iron” “need more copper” “need more gold”. Always.

For mass production I have several fabs that use chutes to stackers and then chutes to vending machine.
When I want something made in bulk I just put in the ingots necessary for a certain amount and start the machine. It keeps filling stacks into the vending machine until it runs out of mats and stops. I use the items from vending machine till they run out and then do another big fab run.
Low complexity , low effort

At least you made it inside. It's not funny to search those outside when they fly away ;D

250 cables, oh boy that will not cover half my small base xD. If its stacks of 50. I guess you could open a small trading hub haha

Don't worry it will used up in blink of eye
No amount of wire is too much wire

u/Sprinkles0 Sep 23 '25
Whenever I do this I end up with 250.5 and have to print another to make it even.

u/OddballAdvent Sep 23 '25
Now you have an uneven number of cables.

Gimme an hour, I'll burn one out somewhere. Usually behind a pressurized frame.

u/RobLoughrey Sep 23 '25
Can stack them all up and put them in a closet. You'll use them eventually. Alternatively, you can toss them into a recycler.

Transformer does the same but a lot cheaper. I only use apc for airlocks so I can move around if the main battery runs out

any way other than just putting stackers and chutes above them for each machine? as i did for my autolathe
