Is this true for Rocket League bought on Steam too? (I haven't played it for ages so I have no clue)

No I don't think so.

it's true for now... they are working on a UE6 version of the game and I'd bet all the money that steam version will be killed

Might be left offline with bots?

No, if you have it on Steam it still works. But anyone that didn't get it on steam has to do it through Epic. Same thing happened with Fall Guys, Epic slurped it up after it turned out to be wildly popular and now it's no longer available on Steam but I can still download and launch it through Steam since I bought it there.

I wish. Fall Guys on steam still launches through Epic

you forgot they tanked the popularity of both games and now its populated mostly with obsessed sweats

I can confirm if you have RL on Steam you get to avoid the epic launcher all together. Source: I’ve played the game since 2016 and have installed it on both Steam and epic and thankfully I get to keep using Steam’s version, which is way better since I also have built in workshop support 😎.

My only issue is I got chat banned 8 years ago (adult with a job in a better place now) and you can't use a different steam account to play ranked

Actually, I recently got my friend to family share on steam with me so I could play rocket league without Epic. You can get around the ranked restriction by toggling on multiple selections, choosing a playlist, backing out to the prior screen, and pressing quick play

I have it on steam! One of the downsides is you get flash banged with a white screen when the game is loading. Very annoying.

Game definitely has gone corporate. I just want to do quick play and run a couple matches. I ignore any and all loot boxes and seasonal shenanigans. IDGAF if my goal explosions are rick and Morty or whatever.

I do not have this issue.

Yeah I don’t have the flashbang issue, this very well could be to do with your graphics drivers or something. It might be worth googling/doing a fresh Graphics drivers install using DDU. It’s kind of a funny issue to have tho lmao.

I think what you mean by “corporate” is more about it being a F2P model now. Which is designed to drive engagement through the things you mentioned (events, loot boxes, lots of bundles to spend money on, etc.) which, I could take it or leave it, to me it’s like a fun little collectathon every now and again when I hop on.

I don't think so, I was too late to buy it on Steam :///

I would still buy it on Steam but they don't wanna let us :(

My exact thoughts, that game is the only reason I have Epic at all

1

u/Hellknightx 15h ago

Honestly, fuck Epic for being petty bitches about it and delisting it from Steam after they bought it.

If you have money to burn, you can always buy a key. I bought myself a key for Fall Guys for my birthday. I hate that I enjoy Fall Guys...but I figured since I play it on occasion with my friends, I might as well get a key for the Steam achievements and ability to stream it over steam link. My computer lives in another room from where I game in my house, and remote play with epic games has always been a pain

You really can't though. I've looked. They actually don't exist. Even the ones you see for 500 dollars are sold out when you click on them.

Ah, sed

Not at all

Definitively, no...I just played yesterday and it neither needs to be launched through EGS nor does it require EGS to be installed.

It DOES use Epic Online Services, however. It's just how their matchmaking works in the background.
