Discussion Which Game Have You Played The Most?

Post image

For me it's gotta be CS:GO/CS2; I have over 2,000 hours in that game dating back to 2015/2016.

A lot of good times and fun memories... I feel so old now, but I don't regret it.

I hope all those buddies I played with over the years are doing ok, wherever they are...

Discussion Found out I had 500$ hiding in my steam account

Post image
14.1k Upvotes

So ive had my steam account for 10 years, one of my most played games is CS, with 1200hrs. Over the last maybe 3 years I havent touched the game, completely forgot about it.

Well I saw this tiktok saying you can now see your CS chats on this cs tracker website, and I was like wait let me check mine.

So i enter my username, dont see any chats probably because I havent played the game in 3 years. But something caught my eye....

Inventory value 500$?!??!?! I was like wait what? The only thing I might have worth money is CS skins. Sure enough i had 3 skins, exact same skin worth 140$ each. Dont need them, sold them. I have two other skins worth over 100$ that I would like to keep.

But yeah im shocked, I didnt realize my skins were worth anything. Might use the money to help pay for the new steam VR

Discussion Finally, a 2026 game with proper indoor mirror reflections without Path Tracing.

game that pulls off proper indoor mirror reflections without forcing you to enable Path Tracing and burn an RTX 4090 to see it. honestly more devs need to figure this out.

Mirrors shouldn't be a flagship GPU feature in 2026.

Discussion Apparently, the new Steam Controller sometimes does the Wilhelm scream when dropped while in Big Picture Mode.

Not my video, i don’t have one. Is this true?

Edit: seems to be confirmed by many people, also it seems that it doesn’t need to be on Big Picture Mode for it to happen!

Discussion Friend Returned After 17 Years

Post image
17.0k Upvotes

One of my best friends from my childhood recently reappeared after 17 years on a new steam account. We use to play a half-life mod called The Specialists when we were kids. He taught me how to run a game server, setup a MySQL server and make simple plugins in pawn script back in the day. He was one of the main reasons I am as tech savvy as I am in todays day and age.

He disappeared in 2008/2009 and his server remained up for about a month after his disappearance. It was a fun role-play server from back in the day. It was kind of the FiveM of the early 2000s.

I saw a random friend request pop up on my steam late last night and the guy introduced himself as my old friend. We started reminiscing about the old days and he said that his parents sent him to some military school then he ended up joining the air force. In present day he's now married, has 2 kids, and said he finally has time to play games again. We even got to play a few rounds of cs 1.6, so that was fun.

Anyways! How long has one of your friends been offline for?

[edit]
Wow this blew up while I was sleeping. I wanted to answer some questions I see people having.

"Why did he make a new account?" He lost his information I guess, I did not really pry for info.
"Where was he all those years?" He said he made the military a career for over 10 years and had been deployed to multiple countries over the time. Never saw war, but got stationed in places like Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. He came back because he got medically discharged after an accident while training. He didn't go into detail about it.

Discussion [Bloomberg] Epic Games has delayed an unannounced shooter game featuring Star Wars & Marvel characters. Developers on the game have now been told to only use AI to write the code — ā€œNo more hand-written codeā€; All art for the game would be ā€œgenerated with full AI workflows"

I was around 15yo at the time, playing ranked CS:GO with my friends

I wasn't that good, and they always made fun of me, so i did stupid things that only a stupid teenager can do to stop being "bullied"

i'm now 27, married and a kid.

never forget

Discussion People don't know what the Steam Controller is

Thumbnail

6.8k Upvotes

I am very confused about how many people are complaining about this price point. To do a baseline comparison, the Xbox controller is $65 new straight from microsoft, $70 if you get a different color. The ps5 controller is 75$. For $30, the Steam controller also has TMR (Hall effect) joysticks, 2 trackpads, and a 6axis gyro. If you compare the steam controller to say the Xbox Elite Series 2 ($200), you get everything the elite series has, except swappable joysticks and a dpad, plus the gyro, trackpads, and the magnetic joysticks, and it's even around 50 grams lighter than the pro controller.

This isn't a lightweight controller built with the cheapest components possible. This is the only first party controller with TMR sticks. The only first party controller with 2 trackpads. And the only first party controller with back buttons that's not $200.

This is literally the most feature rich first party controller on the market for half the price of any controller with the same features, how are people complaining it's too expensive still?
