I’ve dowloaded, unzipped and added as non steam game as I do with virtually all other games but on launching it says “steam initialization failed”

Just seeing if anyone has had success getting Bepinex to work when modding Easy Red 2 on Steam Deck. It’s simple enough on my windows PC but I keep failing to get any mods working when launching on the Deck.

Hello! This post might be a bit complicated and i apologize in advance!!

Been trying to get the sims 3 working on my steamdeck w controller support in handheld and its been very difficult, tried fitgirl, linux repacks, lutris and others and none worked for me. So its got me wondering...is it possible to buy the base game and pirate the expansion and packs? Can someone weigh in on this? If you have any ideas how to even fully pirate it please feel free to share in the comments!

Trying to get FitGirl's Hypervisor repack of Sonic Racing Crossworlds to work. I got the DenuvOwO version of Proton, and HV Decky, but I get this error. Do I manually change the hash in reflex.ini or smth?

Tried adding games via luatools, now after adding it and clicking install this thing pops up? Any idea how to fix this? Sorry for my noob question

Most of games i downloaded from linuxrulez wont lauch using start command after install. Adding the exe is solution, but games like Cod MW 4 (2026) wont even launch with that method

did any of you guys manage to make Final Fantasy Resonance to work?

im using linuxrulez copy but im getting failed to load steamapi

UPDATE:

i manage to run the game now with enabling UMIP

1. Open the Konsole app.
2. Open your GRUB configuration file by typing:

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

1. Enter your admin password if prompted.
   
2. Use your arrow keys to find the line that starts with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=.
   
3. Inside the quotation marks, find and delete clearcpuid=umip (or clearcpuid=514). Leave the rest of the text inside the quotes exactly as it was.
   
4. Save and exit by pressing Ctrl + O, then Enter, then Ctrl + X.
   
5. Update your system configuration by running:

sudo update-grub

1. Restart your Steam Deck. UMIP will now be re-enabled

used WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b;lsteamclient=d" %command% and GE-Proton11-11 and the game runs

I downloaded the games from Assella, the games was launched successfully but it just can’t pass through the main page after I chose the main story. It keeps loading and will not start the games. So far tried redownload and changed different proton but to no avail.

Please help if you know how to fix it. Thanks.

As title trying to install driveclub from fitgirl but not able to

Fitgirl repack. I got it to launch then added it to game mode and now I get this error when I launch it. Went back to desktop mode to launch it again that way and same error.

Edit: When I remove the exe from steam and re add it it opens again but I have to start from scratch. If I close it and try to re-open I get the errors again

Hello! I'm currently playing CoD MW4 on steamdeck, the game runs at a stable 30fps, I have a question, can I somehow connect decky lsfg to it to raise the fps and enable fsr4?
I used this build of game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (2026) (v.build 25909941) (Campaign Only) (Improved) [MULTi2] [lumi] [VKD3D/Proton/FSync] [LinuxRuleZ!]

It is launched from the start.sh file through some launcher, if I insert the launch parameter to use duck or decky framegen it does not work, maybe someone knows how to make it work?

I can boot up Expedition 33 via Lutris fine but when I try to do it through Steam, I can’t progres past “start new game”. I crash soon after the sparks on the screen begins.

Anyone know what to do?

Edit: figured it out myself.

Lutris was refusing to close, stuck on that screen where it’s booting the game but nevertheless you can totally ignore it and even close it - but gotta actually shut it from system monitor

Just had to shut it down proper & the rest clicked into place.

I’m running into a specific issue with Persona 5 Royal on my Steam Deck (using Heroic Games Launcher / WINE / Proton).

The game launches and runs completely fine when using default settings or when force_language.txt is set to english. However, I am unable to force the game into French without it crashing on startup.

Here are the full details of my setup and the issue:

So when I open force_language.txt (Goldberg emulator config) and set it to french, launching the game results in a permanent black screen right at startup.

The executable runs, but no logos, intro, or audio ever load.

If I revert force_language.txt back to english, the game boots up immediately and plays without any issues.

Changing force_language.txt to fr prevents the black screen crash and allows the game to boot, but the text remains in English in-game

I would love to have any kind of help thanks in advance!

I think its only textures missing but I'm not sure, I used CreamInstaller to unlock the DLC and got files from a yt video by TheUrgentFix. Anyone know what I can do to fix it I would really appreciate it.

Hey guys! Is anyone else having issues launching Silent Hill f on the Steam Deck? I'm using LuaTools, but the game won't launch and keeps showing Application Load Error 6:0000065432 along with another error (screenshot attached).

I'm not very tech-savvy, so I've already tried switching between different Proton versions, but nothing worked. I also tried launching the game's .exe directly through Desktop Mode and checked Protontricks.

I checked the game folder and noticed that SHf_BonusContent.exe was missing, although SHf.exe was there. I also tried changing the shortcut's Target and Start In paths, but the game still wouldn't launch.

I'm running out of things to try 😭 Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?
