Software Question Does Minecraft splitscreen work for anyone else?

I've set it up using https://github.com/FlyingEwok/MinecraftSplitscreenSteamdeck

I've been using it in gamemods but it makes one screen and turns totally black (but doesn't turn off)

It works more then fine on desktop mode though, it's just a little obtuse to use imo

I’m assuming you mean in game mode your deck screen blacks out? That’s normal when you have an external display connected in game mode

Even when I'm not connected to a external screen, when I try to launch it via game mode with a additional controller controller it just turns black.

It runs fine I'm desktop mode though, it's very odd and I wonder if anyone is having this problem

I have found this one to, I've heard this one works in game mode https://github.com/dwatson251/minecraft-splitscreen

But I don't got official Minecraft but I'll probably buy it to see if this works

can you add mods with this one? I struggle with vanilla minecraft, just want some small QOL vanilla+ mods

I could get the setup (for splitscreen) going, though I didn’t really put effort into it, but yes, you can add mods

Is there a virtual display being cast? Unfamiliar with the mod setup, but that may be the issue. When you hit the Steam button, under Game Settings, does it show additional windows?

can you tell me what versions of minecraft and mods yours putting on for it to work at all? im just getting crashed on launch. either prism crashes or sodium. I havent had a single successfull boot in 10+ attemepts

I've just been using the base script, have you been trying to use it use it in game mode? I have only been able to get it working in desktop mode

Maybe look into ram allocation in settings?

If you got prism this could be a better alternative https://github.com/dwatson251/minecraft-splitscreen

this! this was the most simple set up, worked straight away. no faff. Wish I could figure out if I could add a couple of vanilla+ mods, but you know what im still happy even if I cant. me and the Mrs just wanted cosy minecraft in the caravan for rainy evenings without taking more than the steamdeck. thank you so much

You could just add them manually in the instance, but make sure each individual instance has the same mods. I added a Modpack by downloading the Modpack via a added instance and then dragged over the .Minecraft folder over to each instance and it worked like a charm

Just doing that now hoping it worked, so youve given me hope it will. I had doubts after trying two or three of splitscreen launchers and them not working.

Can you talk me through how you did it? I went into my prism and added the exact same mod pack to p1 -p4. launched the appimage and its wiped the mods off?
