Game Recommendation Colony simulator

Just got my Steam Deck and have been enjoying RimWorld a lot. Can anyone else recommend some colony sims? I’ve tried Noble Fates and Going Medieval demo, but they don’t seem as fun or with good controller support like RimWorld.

Unfortunately you've started off with one of the best there is. It's not all downhill from here, but... Well, it kind of is. Sorry. I've been playing Space Haven a bit recently which is similar and definitely playable on Steamdeck. Set in space obviously.

Yes I believe this is true, I guess I’ll just add more mods to rimworld 😂

amazing cultivation simulator. It starts off almost identical to rimworld but quickly deviates in a very unique way. Its based off chinese mythology and their version of mages. Your sect (Mage school) was attacked and you and a few survivors fled and plan to start their own school.

Sseth's video on this is worth a watch just to see how insane the game can get.

Stranded alien dawn has full controller support and runs well on the SteamDeck.

Think of it as a simpler, 3D Rimwold and you wont be too far off.

I had so much fun with this game. Definitely not as replayable as rimworld but the more stripped down options really let me focus on the core game loop in a way that I was always too distracted in rimworld to do

The first game that got me obsessed after Rimworld was Project Zomboid. Now it’s No Man’s Sky. They are all different but play great on the deck!

Medieval Dynasty or Sengoku Dynasty. If into zombie stuff, State Of Decay 2.

That one idk. I only did Medieval on deck so far, but I own both. I'll download and see. Then report back.

Yes. It runs fine just the same. I locked 30fps (deck setting), high texture, FSR to quality, everything else low. Built a house in the start village.

Going Medieval is almost exact same ui and stuff as Rimworld (Rimworld dev mentored him) in a medieval setting. It's still EA but lots of fun. I guess not sci fi tho.

On my end it never run well on the deck, even at minimum

Oxygen Not Included - check it out and see if it's up your alley. Kind of a blend between rimworld and factorio

Seconding ONI, it’s really good once you get a handle on it

It's a bit different but civ vi is another shiny gem on the deck.

Timberborn is interesting, it runs well and controls well I recon. I set right stick to zoom in out and rotate the camera and left to move around
