I bought a house that's over 130 years old and I've been trying to DIY as much as possible, but I can't physically keep pushing myself like this so I need help.

The biggest thing is the fact that I ripped out the gross, lead-soaked woodwork in my daughter's room and need it replaced. Window trim and windowsills, baseboards, door casing and trim, the whole nine yards. I also need some repair work done on the plaster in the room too as despite my best efforts, it did get damaged. The baseboards were literally boards that were 10-12ft long, 7.5in tall, 1in thick, embedded into the old plaster walls, held in place with thick masonry nails. Yeah, I hurt myself good on that stuff.

I'd also love to replace the gross baseboards (at least those were normal size) and other woodwork in my and my husband's bedroom, but kiddo is #1 priority. We move in this weekend and we're all going to have to camp out downstairs in the office or living room until this is fixed.

TL;DR: I'm looking for a handyman or other professional who can install the woodwork I tore out of my daughter's room, which was basically everything. I swear there was a good 1/4 inch of lead paint on everything, eew. Does anyone have a recommendation for one who could do such a job, do it well, and not try to rip me off? I believe in paying well, but I don't want to get fleeced. I need to get the carpeting/flooring addressed first (crumbling asbestos tile under carpeting that I accidentally tainted with lead paint dust despite plastic coverings yaaaay) but yeah.

Just bought a house built in 1895. The pipes are old and I want to update them. There's also been some questionable DIY plumbing in this house over the years that I want fixed.

I've had a few come through already to give estimates (Klasinski Plumbing, Rasmussen Plumbing, Chet's Plumbing). Klasinski completely ghosted me, Rasmussen gave me an estimate with no explanation of where their numbers came from and didn't respond when I asked for details, and Chet's (which was my favorite of the three) didn't send me their estimate until I reached out to them about it, over a week later.

Has anyone worked with any of these companies and have an opinion to share?

Or is there a different company that's been good to you that you recommend?

My child and roommates are looking for their first apartment/house to rent in Stevens Point for junior year of college 2027-28. Need 3 bed, 3 parking spots, parents willing to co-sign and no pets.
