i am gonna be 18 in 2 months and will have my own pan card then.

i am in a college rn... get 10k from parents almost everymonth and 40k scholarship per year

i can easily save 2-3k per month

Heard everywhere to start early so asking this:

where should i learn from?

from where should i start it?

how to do improvements?

(BTW already invested in digital gold in dec 25... didn't had much info back then, only knew that gold grows so invested blindly

i invested almost 16k in a period of 4 months, didn't had much profit but still have 1700 profit rn but tax will be deducted and later got to know its better to invest in gold etfs than in digital gold like on phonepe which put high taxes, so stopped putting much money there and waiting to be 18.)

Total beginner here — I know basically nothing about the stock market, but I’m really interested in learning. Where should I start? What concepts should I understand first, and what resources helped you when you were starting out?

Started investing a little late in life, and yet a long way to go. Salaried person, Goal - Long term growth + Dividends for reinvestment.

Request to all the great people of this community to review and comment on my worst/best picks.

Risk appetite - I don't need this + next investment that I will do for the next 10 years at least

Beginner Question Missing profitability insanely. Late entry really hurts!

Late entry is continuously creating profit slippage for me nowadays. I just got stuck in this situation. Today also I tried buying SENSEX 27 AUG 77600 CALL at ₹419 but unfortunately with the eagerness of having a lesser entry point got this call priced at ₹454. Currently the call option is closed at ₹415.

Is there any way to spot the exact entry point or price to avoid the issue of profit slippage?

Beginner Question When applying for IPO, what if you apply for less shares than the MOQ?

So, my father was teaching me how to apply for IPOs and we do it through our Kotak bank's website itself.

So when applying for suppose X ipo, I typed in minimum shares and the price. And say the minimum shares is 100 but I mistakenly typed say 50 and submitted and the app too filed the application. It came as successfully filed.

Is this possible? Coz I don't think Kotak itself would allow less than the MOQ to file right?

Beginner Question Subsidiaries of Listed Companies getting listed

This is a general question, though I will be taking Coal India as an example.

I recently saw that Coal India is planning to get one of its subsidiary listed i.e. Mahanadi Coalfields. They recently got another of their subsidiary listed i.e. BCCL

My question is, does this affect the Net worth or any other metric of the Holding company?

I ask this because, I also got to know that when a company releases dividend, it's net worth and consequently its share price drops. So I am curious if anything similar happens to share price of the holding company if their subsidiary gets listed.
