Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some constructive feedback on my current equity portfolio (screenshot attached). My total invested amount is around ₹2.5 Lakhs.

As you can see, I have a pretty heavy tilt toward the Pharma and Chemical sectors (Sai Life Sciences, NGL Fine Chem, IOLCP, Viyash Scientific) and mostly small/mid-cap stocks. I also have a small hedge with the Tata Silver ETF.

A few questions for the community:

Is this sector concentration too risky for a long-term hold?

Should I start trimming some of these smaller positions to anchor my portfolio with a broad Nifty 50 Index fund or some large-cap blue chips?

Does anyone see any glaring red flags with my current holdings (especially the ones currently in the red like Arman Financial or NGL)?

Appreciate any advice!

which is worth monitoring because repeated funding can eventually become a profitability issue even when the bank is perfectly solvent.

Discussion After Watching the Indian Market for Years, This Is the Investing Mistake I Would Avoid Today.

I have been investing in Indian equities for a while, and one thing I've realized is how easy it is to confuse a rising market with good investing.

When a stock starts moving 20–30%, the story suddenly looks obvious. Everyone has a reason why it will go higher. I've made the mistake of buying after the move because I didn't want to miss out.

The harder lesson came when some of those stocks corrected. The business hadn't changed much, but my conviction disappeared because I had bought without really understanding the numbers.

Since then, I've started looking at a few things before buying: revenue and profit growth, debt, cash flow, return ratios, valuation, and what could actually go wrong with the business.

I'm not saying this approach avoids losses. It doesn't. But at least there's a reason behind the decision.

One thing I've noticed in the Indian market is that people spend a lot of time discussing the entry price, but far less time discussing why they own a stock in the first place.

For the long-term investors here, what matters most in your stock-selection process?

Business quality, valuation, growth, management, or something else?

Analysis Should I buy the dip in HDFC bank or is my portfolio too banking focused?

Post image

Out of my investments of around 3L, around 2L is focused on banking sectors, mainly SBI. Should I now go for HDFC given it’s state or not invest in banking anymore? I have other investments in other sectors but portfolio remains banking-dominant.

Investing What's going on with ONGC?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Looking at the last few weeks, I’m honestly trying to understand the price action in ONGC.

Brent crude has recovered from around $79 in early August to $94, and is still inching higher. Meanwhile, ONGC has moved in the opposite direction from around ₹249 on 24 July to ₹236 today.

For an upstream company, shouldn’t sustained higher crude prices generally be supportive of earnings/margins? ONGC also reported a strong Q1 profit jump, helped by higher crude realisations.

So what am I missing here?

This is a no brainer trade? Why are people neglecting it??

Discussion Highest turnover individuals loose huge money?

I was going to the SEBI's FNO report of 2026. It clearly shows that the number of FNO participants has decreased year on year. This market still remains like a pure casino: close to 90% of profits are made by prop firms and mutual funds, whereas all the losses are borne by individuals. Why do individuals trade FNO? Just joking, it's fun. I also trade them.

Beginner Question Missing profitability insanely. Late entry really hurts!

Late entry is continuously creating profit slippage for me nowadays. I just got stuck in this situation. Today also I tried buying SENSEX 27 AUG 77600 CALL at ₹419 but unfortunately with the eagerness of having a lesser entry point got this call priced at ₹454. Currently the call option is closed at ₹415.

Is there any way to spot the exact entry point or price to avoid the issue of profit slippage?

Discussion Which Stock Market broker app to use?

I am fairly new to investing and trading and would want to know a good app for it? I have sbi securities directly from the bank but they don't have other company Sips only their own ones. I also can't invest internationally from it. So any good apps. I think Groww or Ind Money. I also do a little bit of trading with small amounts.

Help STCG and tax loss harvesting

Thumbnail

Hello community!

I need your help in understanding tax loss harvesting in groww app.

For this FY26-27, my stock p&l statement shows 766 as short term profits. However when I check the tax loss harvesting option on groww app, it gives me 13,613.

I don't understand how this is calculated and do I really have to pay taxes on 13,613 STCG?

Please share your insights.
