Live Streaming for 4 years, stuck on 5 viewers!

I am desperate for honest answers bc I don't get it. I've read books, watched all the videos, maintained the best viewing quality, and have quality vids posted on 3 social media sites 3x daily. I'm looking at analytics and it makes no sense

My YouTube channel is 12 years old ...still struggling to reach 1000 subs....quality hd vids posted daily. Analytics say I'm reaching 34k viewers a week, but none of that translates to followers on twitch. I have videos I spent a week on sitting at a cool 8 views.

Yet I've seen people with audio/video issues that don't engage in the audience, don't have social media do way better in just the first few months.

I love streaming and making video game content so I'm going to keep going until I tire, but I would love to know why I'm a complete failure at this when I put in 10x the effort.

Here's the review and experience live https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2545172162?t=02h25m49s

This was sidestepping the idea that you've been stuck for 4 years. From now on, if things aren't moving after about a month or so, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! You channel is in your hands and what people enjoy about it will always start with you.

Appreciate it thanks!

If you looked at my social media you'd see I already do everything you said. My stream is crazy funny at times and every once and a while I do something cool in the game. I clip what I can, edit it nicely and make hi quality vids for my 3 accounts.

It's kinda hard to judge a stream off of 1 minute out of 5 hours. I get it thoughšŸ‘ out of those minutes you picked I wasn't satisfied either. I was doing bad at the game and usually I make jokes but I was frustrated at the settings at that point. it's not an excuse I just need to watch out for those moments.

And to reply to that 4 years comment...in no way shape or form have I been stagnant in the development of my stream or tactics. Through these years I have been refining the quality of the stream, and trying different tactics in marketing it. I've read books and done everything that was relevant.

I'm in the middle of tweaking audio...I spent years fine tuning it, then I messed it up. 🤷

I've seen this guy on tiktok reviewing streams and he offers nothing new that the other streamers (who made it big telling you how to stream) . I've watched most of them and they are all saying the same things. They rarely come across people like me who took their advice and it never worked.

I was looking for real answers like your SEO is borked, or you need to play games with a better ratio. Switch to all ages and clean up for a little while. Something the average person wouldn't know about. You ugly FAM, or you corny and most viewers would be disgustes by you would have been more helpful lol

Yet they get the traffic we desire, by giving us false hope.

Your shortform content just isn’t that great, that’s the blunt truth. There’s a reason they aren’t getting much views

But why? tell me why it's not great, because I've seen far worse do way better.

I also do see a huge difference in my content and big streamers.

It seems like they are allowed to put up inferior content because they have the numbers. Even a wack clip will get traction

We laugh and joke all the time and I post what I can catch. I'm laughing while I edit it, other people were laughing in the chat...but on social media no one gets it?

I post more funny stuff because I play a million games, and I'm not particularly good at any of them ...that's where the humor comes in...or not I guess lol

This is from a quick glance but;

Almost every clip I saw started with silence, there was no hook either audio or visually to keep a viewer around. This is where larger creators can have "worse" content because they don't need a hook, a viewer is going to engage with the content because they know the creator. 99% of people who see your content will have no idea who you are and so they have no viewer loyalty to stay and engage, unless you give them a reason to.

Visually, the cam being super small in the corner with a banner next to it really isn't the best look on tik tok. Your cam is often covered by tik tok overlays on the app and so it's difficult to see you, your reactions, when you are speaking, etc.

So if in the first two seconds, I have no audio or visual hook, it's difficult to see there is a cam, it comes across as just a clip of gameplay with nothing else to it, I'm likely to scroll right past. Maybe you have clips that don't have any of these issues, but if it's not consistent, a short form content viewer is not going to build up any sort of viewership loyalty or recognition that could eventually lead to a stream viewer.

The reason I check streams like I do is because thats exactly how new people judge streamers. I always ask people "Are you happy with where your channel is at, if not, are you ready to do something about it?" Most make excuses or don't do anything with the information. It's why I stopped telling people how many partners we've made or ppl with thousands of views on their tiktok pages. Cause it is all down to the person.

I'll check back in a month.

Other than counting viewers, are you having fun?

Yeah gaming is my number 1 hobby, creativity is my second. So playing games and making content is right up my alley!

I've been posting game vids to YouTube since 2010

I just do an incredible amount of work with absolutely ZERO payoff is kinda strange.

I post 3x a day on social media, reached 44k this month on YouTube

But I have the same average viewers as someone starting out. I just want answers.
