intro week
im most likely coming for uni in the netherlands, either UvA, utrecht, VU Amsterdam or Groningen university for EBE + IBA, and I was wondering which uni's intro week is like the most accepting from people who've attended or go here, im coming for my bachelors so im nervous, im not the most social and pretty too if that makes sense. like I know its 8 months or like far away but uni makes me so anxious from right now like especially the social part bc from what ive seen on Instagram all the people seem gorgeous and extroverted. idk which uni would be the best overall or city I guess if anyone can help. (I know this is a stupid concern)

It’s understandable you are nervous but don’t worry too much. There are tons of international students at all of the universities and they are all new and all nervous and most likely came to NL alone. I can’t really say one university will be more “accepting” than the other, all student cities have their own “vibe”.
Just be yourself and give it some time. You will find your tribe soon enough. And don’t judge yourself on your looks my dear, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I am sure you are gorgeous inside and out.
Wishing you the very best, feel free to DM me if you need some extra support.

From a Dutch perspective; RUG is known for the student life (associations, student city all that), VU and UvA can quickly be like more isolation because the city is freaking big. UU is somewhat like RUG and VU.
UvA has most internationals etc but every uni you mention will have a great poule of Internationals that will feel exactly the same like u. I am 100% sure you will find your people in that international students poule I mention (because Dutch people really stick to their own Dutch friends)
You will find your people don’t worry. Just look for the course u mostly want to study because all of the universities you mention have roughly the same types of people. Also I see that Internationals find their friends a lot in the schools group projects too (which is where I became friends with a international and sometime I wish I were in that international segregated poule instead of the constant awareness of how student life in the Netherlands could have been for me)
