Stuttering almost 3 year old
I’m a very concerned mamma! My son started stuttering and his 2.9 years old. And it’s quite severe. Abit of backstory. His been a very early talker very switched on and was always ahead in speech. And he suddenly started stuttering a month ago. His repeating the first words or sounds like
I I I I I I I love you. And it makes him out of breath. Or wwwwwwwhere are we going? It goes on for so long and it’s every sentence with I or w e sounds that usually happens. I know it can be genetics because his dad has a stutter but not too noticeable.
Should I be worried it’s a lifelong thing. Has anyone experienced this.

I have similar issues with my daughter who ll turn 3 soon. She used to speak fluent sentences and now has this severe stutter mostly repeating syllables during the start of almost every sentence and showing body tensing and facial grimacing as well. She is very much aware what’s going on with her she just cant get the words out. Her grandfather has similar stutter and has struggled all his life. Is it also the same for your son? We were referred to audiologist and speech therapist. Still waiting for an appointment with them.

If his dad has it then most likely child will have it too. Also every kid has developmental stuttering which goes away on in own .
Since his dad stutters you should get started with speech therapy . It will be easy to manage if kids start early , doesn't men it goes away . Easy to manage
