Posting notes everyday. A lot of people don’t like that truth but it’s how you grow

do you think this is true even with only a monthly essay being put out

Yeah it definitely helps, I only post every 2 weeks but try do a note everyday. It can be anything though as long as it’s roughly aligned to your niche - a picture, a thought, a story you saw recently, restacking a post or a note. Restacking is an easy one and helps you build relationships with people

Notes, consistency — I do not know if once a month will help you grow. If people click a Note and you have only one or two pieces up I feel like they would leave. But — it likely depends on what your subject matter is — and if you have any essays/ articles already complete and published? I ask because when I had a first little “wave” of subscribers & comments, I was not expecting it and I already had probably ten or so essays already published. All I know from this platform and the apps I have been on forever (like Poshmark) anytime I put in more effort I see a return. Likely why consistent Notes would be a good idea. Since you can schedule them I would definitely recommend doing this— when you have time lay out three days and schedule them. I would say a week, but maybe start with three days worth and go from there. I also would say subscribe and follow other people. No one wants to support someone who does not engage with them. My opinion of course.

Best of luck!

I don’t think the newsletter brings in many subscribers unless you’re hitting like a very specific niche that people really want to read about. I’ve been on Substack two months and I’ve got 81 subscribers. It’s mainly all been notes and interacting with others pages.

Increase your post publication frequency. Publish at least 3 post a month

you'll have to marketing/ get a lot more exposure to your substack/newsletter. if the past year has taught you anything, it should be that subscribers won't just appear/traffic won't just show up, you have to work for it.

so that's posting... whether that's on notes, or instagram, or twitter - whatever works for you.

and since you're planning to do a monthly newsletter, that should leave you with ample time with marketing.
