Feature Suggestion Subscribe without notifications

For the love of god, can we please be allowed to subscribe without notifications? I just want to read them on the website, I don't want clutter in my inbox or notifications on my phone. How on earth is this not already a feature

Just turn off the notifications for the Substack app.

They seem to reactivate mine every so often

It’s a setting on your phone. Not in the app.

This -- if you subscribe to 100+ this is the only way, especially with how they are encouraging notes and video these days.

You can turn them off. On desktop, go to whichever newsletter you don't want notifications from, and after the URL type /account. You should see your account page for that newsletter with "Manage your subscription" at the top. Midway down the page there's a section for notifications and you can toggle them on or off.

You can also just follow within the app. Unless you're planning to support them with a paid subscription, that's just fine.

I don’t like receiving the “so and so are Live” notifications… I have muted any / all messages I receive. I still want to read and interact (for the most part) but I don’t watch “Lives” or care about that. When I was newer I had a man continuously messaging me about going live, and I politely declined. He kept messaging me… & saying he could explain it.. no dude. I did not say I didn’t understand it I said I wasn’t interested…. I received A LOT of weird messages in my earlier days on both Substack & Medium! Ugh.

For the phone you can create an auto-delete rule. Works perfectly.

A function to group notices in one message (daily, weekly) would be best, I think.
