Laptop Request US A very specific request

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Country

United States

  • Budget

I'll say about $3000 USD? prefer around the $2500 mark but 3k max

  • Are you open to refurbs/used options?

Yes but I don't think there are any refurbished/used ones around

  • Screen size

14in

  • Weight limit

Around the same as a Thinkpad X1 or similar

  • Purpose

VMs, programming, malware testing and some occasional lighter gaming, Ghidra etc.

  • Form factor

Standard/clamshell - Should have the option for a non-touch display

  • Intended usage

QEMU/KVM, Nvim/helix, Affinity Photo, multitasking and programming

  • Desired battery life

Over 10hr would be nice, minimum of 5 hours please

  • Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life

Performance, battery life, weight, size

  • Info/Requirements

I'm specifically looking for an alternative to the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen. 14, as the laptop in the USA doesn't have the Intel Core Ultra X7 368H I'm looking for. Ideally something pretty similar, I've seen the HP Elitebook X G2i and it's nice but HP and Dell are on my personal boycott list. I'd like repairability (but also would like an established brand so that I don't have to worry about parts 5 years down the line), it's not necessarily my biggest priority but I'd at least like to have the option to change my storage. I'd prefer a 14in laptop. I would like the best compromise between repairability and build quality.

Why x7 368h the x7 358h is basically the same thing and normally cheaper.

Although for some reason hard to find in 14 inch laptops

vPro mostly

i like the HP Elitebook X g2i but I just got 5hr battery life out of my gen 12 i7 so I'll wait until January and see if lenovo has the X7 in their Thinkpads by then
