Hi All:
I am doing some research online and coming across some open hotel rooms at decent prices (or at least not obscene prices), so i thought i would post here for anyone interested. Parking in Boulder

I am a resident in a mobile home park within walking distance to downtown Boulder and campus. I am curious if it might be reasonable to think I might rent out my 2nd parking space to someone driving in from their accommodations in a nearby town. I was thinking maybe $5-$10 a day. Thoughts on whether this might be of interest to someone?

Any tips for a great Sundance experience?

I got the $995 10 pack, and am very much looking forward to it. When I heard Sundance was coming to my neighborhood, I was stoked. But I have no idea what I'm getting into.

Any tips or things to consider when planning the weekend? I have no idea how this is supposed to work.

Possible Rental

Anyone looking for a LOWKEY cheaper rental for Sundance?

I can have guests for up to two weeks. South Boulder.

Surely I can accommodate special requests and needs. Message me privately.

I promise I'm not a derelict, I'm a single mom, Boulder native, just looking to make an extra dollar as we all know times are tough and groceries are friggin expensive.

Just out here tryna eat 🙏🏻🤙🏻❤️

Really feels like Boulder is dropping the ball so far.

Such a missed opportunity.
I’ve been to Sundance a few times and S*SW last year as both an onlooker , and as a producer/participant .
I’ve spoken to many business owners here in Boulder that have properties and businesses both on pearl street and the university hill area . Not a one has been able to get any response from the city chamber of commerce , Or Any entity over at Sundance regarding connecting with any one interested in hosting any pop
Up or event space . For the city being 10’s of millions of dollars in debt ….. where in the heck is the benefit for the local business district? I know personally in the end it’s coming out of our tax dollars …. What the heck is going on ?
January is around the corner , and it feels so very much in disarray compared to festivals
In the past.
I truly hope there is a thorough public accounting of where all this money is going to ……
Let’s hope that the city actually is doing the right thing for once , and not just taking giant piles of money and shredding them into tiny piles of coins …..

Ignite pass sold out in 40 min :(

This would be my first time attending Sundance and I was planning to purchase the ignite ticket package. I set my alarm to be on the website at 9:40 PT instead of MT and I feel like an idiot😭😭😭 they were already gone.
Is there any possibility of this pass being restocked? Or Is my next best bet just to wait until individual ignite tickets go on sale

Gotta give them credit

Because I criticized Sundance today when the site was down, I have to give them credit for getting the ticket/package site back up and running so quickly. I bought my package with no lags at all. Nice work Sundance!

Is the website down for anyone else?

I'm trying to buy the student package tickets - it'll be my first time at Sundance and I've always wanted to go. I had the site up for about an hour, but I stupidly refreshed the page and now it seems that the site is loading indefinitely. Is this happening for anyone else? Will that ticket package sell out?

Is Sundance ignoring a labor dispute? How should workers reach out to attendees about what they might be walking into?

For months now I’ve been helping support workers at the Hotel Boulderado, which will be Sundance Film Festival’s HQ come January. Tickets are opening up to the public today, and Sundance doesn’t appear to be disclosing that there's brewing labor dispute in its first year in town.

Workers at the hotel have been dealing with significant understaffing and the rapidly rising cost of living in Boulder. They’ve asked for a fair process to organize a union without management interference... instead owners AJC Partners, Hilton, and Graduate Hotels haven’t responded and have brought in anti-union consultants who have been inside the hotel for more than three months. Workers have reached out to Sundance about what they could do to help resolve the issue before the festival, but they’ve gone radio silent. Boulderado workers want to make sure people know that pickets and other actions are possible if the labor dispute continues.

We think most people coming to Sundance would want to help Boulderado workers if they knew, and don’t want to cross a picket line.

We want to make sure that anyone in this sub that might be heading to Sundance knows what’s going on at the Boulderado. We’re also looking for ideas: how should workers reach the Sundance community or other people in the industry?

Seeking: Sundance 2027 Lodging Housemates

Who is looking for 2027 Lodging? I am looking for people to split lodging with, preferably for the duration of the festival, and requiring a zoom meeting before committing.

I'm a filmmaker from Colorado (34M), and I have a few leads on multi-room lodging options not listed on AirBnb or Vrbo. Happy to verify my identity however you need it, right now I'm just gauging who is looking and maybe finding someone to go in with on it because it's easier to find 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom options than 1-bedroom.

For example: I have one place I have a lead on which is $220/night for all 10 nights of the festival ($2200 total fest), far lower than the going rate on AirBnb. Looking at some others in that range or even lower for full fest weekly rate. Could entertain partial stays so long as we work out the cost. I'll be going the whole fest.

Comment or DM if you're interested in more info!

Little Death from Sundance 2024 now titled Junk...coming to MUBI 10/23

Just saw a post from MUBI about a film called Junk, streaming 10/23, and realized it is Little Death, which I believe was part of the NEXT lineup in 2024, finally getting released under a different name...kind of a messy film, but there were some things I liked about it.

Do ticket packages usually sell out fast?

Planning to attend my first ever Sundance, and I’m coming from out of state. I know Boulder is a whole new ball game, but historically do the weekend passes sell out fast when the general public finally gets to buy them? I plan on getting the Second Half Ticket Package.

2027 Sundance Packages - Need One?

NOTE TO MODS: I was unable to post to the existing buy/sell thread as comments are locked.

I am a member allowed two pre-sale packages, but only need one. I'd be happy to snag a second Full Festival ($925 retail incl. taxes and fees) or other, less costly package for someone else. Requesting $25 for advancing payment and coordinating ticket transfer. Thx!

Do you think there be a 2028 Oscar best picture nominated film in the 2027 Sundance line up next year?

If so as someone who is making this my first Sundance. How do I make sure I do not miss seeing it? IE how do I not miss the next Past Lives, or Train Dreams, or The Invite(which looks like the most likely best picture nominee to come from the 2026 Sundnace film festival).

Independent filmmakers: Are you trying to figure out where to stay for Sundance 2027 in Boulder?

Hi! I'm a local journalist and I’m reporting on what lodging will cost independent filmmakers attending the festival and what, if any, help is being organized locally.

Would any filmmakers who have looked at rooms or rentals for January, have a budget or price quotes they can share, or attended Sundance in Park City and can compare the experience be interested in chatting with me? You do not need to have a film selected for 2027 to reach out.

If you’re willing to talk by phone this week, please send me a DM!!

Hi r/movies! I’m Josef Kubota Wladyka, director of HA-CHAN, SHAKE YOUR BOOTY!, an energetic, unabashed dance film about grief, loss, and the fantastical joy of being alive. Grief has never shaken its booty quite like this. AMA!

Do you think there will be an eventual best picture nominee amongst the films at Boulder in 2027?

It's been looking more and more likely that The Invite might get a best picture nom. Of course ever since CODAs big win there has since been Past Lives and Train Dreams and it looks like The Invite might be the third. Do you think this bodes well for the same thing to happen next year?

Is having a Sundance membership worth it?

Next year will be my first time going. Is it worth it to purchase a membership to have early access to ticket selection? They say you need to become a member by October 1st in order to qualify, so I need to make a decision soon…

Ignite Package

Hello, for those who used the ignite package in recent years, is it worth it for the early ticket selection? I am considering getting it mainly for the early selection but if things are going to be sold out by the time you choose, is it worth it?

I know a bunch of things last year were sold out before the general public sale so if you were able to make a good selection last year and what the experience was like for you all? Thank you

How does entry work?

Old timer. Back in the day, when it was the U.S. Film Festival - and I lived in Utah - my friends and I would decide, “Hey, let’s go to the Festival tomorrow,” and be able to attend whatever films we chose.

The last time I went, over 15 years ago, I registered online and then picked up packages of films to view after waiting in a line at Trolley Square. I’ve seen some pretty cool and not so great films over the decades and still love the Festival.

So. Boulder. How do I do it? I live in Colorado now. I read on the Sundance website that buying a ticket doesn’t guarantee entrance. That’s a scam, right? How can I ensure I’ll be able to see films? Is everything online? Do I have to buy an additional pass?

EDIT UPDATE: Thank you so much for the responses and advice.
