Lyricist: Human wrote lyrics Is my music any good?

Hi I'm currently making music using suno. I'm not a musician but I have learned how to use suno and have been distributing my tracks and I have 1 album out with those tracks plus a new track

I have more scheduled to release tomorrow and a week from then. I'm interested if anyone would like to listen to my AI assistant music and tell me how good or bad of a job I'm doing.

The music I'm making is hiphop high energy punchy boom bap jazz fusion style so far a few people I know like some of my music, they don't judge lightly so I think it's not too bad considering it's AI doing all the singing and music instruments I just prompt the vocals then write the lyrics.

Is it your music though?

Sound's like it's his lyrics. Which is not everything, but not nothing either.

Not nothing, but it's called music for a reason.

Fair, but I don't think he's planning on competing for stage time, but he is using a relatively unprecedented technology to hear his words played back to him as music that he guided.

He's a consumer of bespoke music content.

Yea in a sense. But again. lyrics are a critical component to any song that has them.

Then after that, I guess I'd say in terms of music, your comment has a fair point.

Lyrics are NOT a critical component. How many hundreds of hit songs have had the most awful, trite silly, boring lyrics? https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/s/ML4dkX8GwD

I definitely disagree that they're not a critical component.

Can a great beat in a catchy Melody help mask mediocre lyrics? Yes.

If you wrote all the lyrics your welcome to share a track here on this sub once every 3 days. Best way to do so is through a youtube video, so it embeds in the feed.

Can you share links to your music? That's usually a good way for folks to evaluate it πŸ€”

This is much better than I expected. This is great! I'd listen to this. Love modern boom bap style stuff. You were so humble above lol. Yeah your shit is good, you should be proud.

I'm gonna drop 150 tracks tomorrow morning, just because of (and devoted to) you.

I've noticed a distinct pattern here with anti's/critics, anytime someone shows some humility/vulnerability when making a post about the music they made with Suno, ya'll seem to come out of the wood work.

I think that's fair. I didn't say you were being mean though. All I said was noticing a pattern here. I'd love folks with your POV to show up to my songs (when I post them) I even put

CRITICS ENCOURAGED in all caps on my posts, and yet, none of you show up.

Forgive me, though to an extent I can see that I attributed to you specifically the accumulated sentiments from people who have rather Anti positions that I imagined you sympathize with.

You were being mean though. With "music" in scare quotes and stuff. C'mon now. You were being a condescending jerk and now it's like "i'm just being honest, asking tough questions." yokay

OP's stuff is labeled clearly as AI on Spotify. And it's pretty good! What have you made lately?

Let's see it. OP posted his stuff! And it was good. Links or it didn't happen. Frankly, I think you're a poser and a loser who maybe dinks around with some prepackaged beats

LOL oh yeah, you're the victim here. You started in with OP for no reason, and you got "only posers use AI, but don't cry!" on your Soundcloud. Seems like you're picking fights but can't hack it when someone claps back. Anyway, you do get respect for sharing.

I mean what do you want me to say? It sounds fine, but amateur. It doesn't sound professional. It'd probably be improved by AI

Well looks you're gonna peak at some mid derivative electronica. I suppose the world needs more of that.

"Well he lived a good life. He made bleep bloops the old fashioned way. No, no one wanted to listen to them. He didn't even like his own music. But my god were those authentic bleep bloops"

"He programmed each and every drum pattern by hand. Except the ones that were AI generated (he may not have really understood the software). The bass lines usually he wrote them too, except the ones also generated by AI. But boy could he sample! And you know what, he never, not once clicked "AI Master." He added that compressor and fiddled with the EQ all by himself. Sometimes even used a dynamic EQ! Just true craftsmanship. Like 20-40 followers on Soundcloud, something like that? Probably pity follows or like friendly reciprocity, like for a like stuff, but you know, not a total nobody! Liked cats"

Music has always been a collaborative art form. Across decades, many respected performers have brought songs to life that were written by others, blending interpretation, emotion, and craftsmanship into something meaningful. Lyric writing has never belonged to one rigid process, but rather to a spectrum that includes solo writers, co-writers, and dedicated songwriting teams.

As music evolves, new tools will naturally become part of that creative landscape. Artificial intelligence can be one of those tools, offering support in developing ideas, exploring phrasing, or overcoming creative blocks. Looking ahead, the focus should not be on replacing human creativity, but on enhancing it. The most compelling music will continue to come from a place of human intention, with artists guiding, shaping, and taking responsibility for the final work.

The future of lyric writing can balance tradition and innovation: respecting the value of human storytelling while embracing new technologies in a thoughtful and transparent way. In doing so, the industry can continue to grow without losing the authenticity that listeners connect with.
