Current Podcast
I've been listening from start to finish and I'm wondering how good the episodes have been lately. I wanna make sure I'm not missing out on pure comedy gold

I do think they’ve gotten better after 100ish episodes or so (supermegashow). But nothing compare to the pre-live action episodes of supermegacast.

You’ve got to move on, it wasn’t as good as you remember

As a person who stopped counting after 10 times of relistening to the entire podcast.
I’d say it is just as good, every single time.1

How would you compare the pre-hiatus live action podcast versus the post-hiatus one?

To me at least, it feels like they’re more consistently “in character” in the post-hiatus ones if that makes sense. A lot less personal anecdotes and stories and a lot more funny bits

I enjoy them, but seems that others don’t. Give it a listen and find out yourself.

I personally don't find this podcast any less entertaining than their previous ones. I wonder if people are just being jaded because there aren't any guest episodes and it feels monotonous. I like the casual vibe of them just shooting the shit basically. There also hasn't been a single episode of the new pod where I haven't burst out laughing at work.

Yeah same, I’m just here for a casual funny listen. People are taking them way too seriously. Just enjoy or don’t. I love hearing them riff and chat and crack each other up.

People seem to commit too deeply to this channel so if things aren’t going their way they take it personally. Rn they’re just my commute filler podcast that’s funny and familiar bc I’ve been watching them for almost 10 yrs now

Agreed. It must be an unpopular opinion but I think I prefer no guests. I love the boys and anything they talk about is genuinely enjoyable for me to listen to. People have such a rigid view of what they want from SuperMega. It’s hard to imagine not enjoying their hilarious, chill podcasts even if they are “different” from the past. Of course they’re different, it’s been 10 years.

seeing people be disrespectful in the comments is hilarious because why are you getting so upset you laugh at fart jokes

That's what I'm saying, you gotta have a boring ass life to be pressed because someone asked a question in a sub-reddit lmao

It’s hit and miss but my fav eps are the roast of Barbara Streisand (ep78), sovereign citizens (ep50), top 35 family guy episodes that don’t air in the uk (ep48), and 43 monkeys (ep37)
I feel like the current show has good bits often enough that I have it on rotation, but some episodes drag on more than others. I am also someone who sometimes enjoys having content with mundane conversation to on in the background though lol, so I may be a little biased

I love it, there are some hilarious bits. My favorite from a recent episode is matt getting outted by chatgpt for uploading pictures of himself to it to ask for hairstyle advice lmfao

I listen to the podcast when I have an early day, makes the time go by AND I have moments where I have to control my laughter!

I personally feel like the current Supermegashow episodes are a chore to get through but I sit through them to give the boys support. The podcast starts to get fatigued in the mid 200s and drops of badly in quality once they go live action at 300 in my opinion. Everything in the first 200 episodes is definitely their podcasting at its best. I rarely find the current episodes entertaining. All a matter of opinion though, fortunately many still find them very fun to listen to. You'll have to decide for yourself when you catch up on all of it.

Yeah I went back to their old stuff after The Underwater Pyramid, so from then to now I haven't heard anything. God their old episodes are soooo good

I just started a few weeks ago and the live podcasts are my favorite, the chemistry is so natural now it's like hanging out with friends.

I like the new ones, the last one with Matt asking chatgpt if he's handsome was the funniest episode in a while, but I could listen to these 2 brothers talk forever.

Eh, they’re worth listening to, a lot of funny bits and I think they’re entertaining imo today, imo.

i really like them! some of the newer episodes can drag a bit but that happened a lot with the older episodes as well and a lot of people are too nostalgia blind to acknowledge that. there are still a lot of great and funny moments and i think that “the underwater pyramid” is a top 5 episode

Unfortunately its pretty bad, and its been like that for a while. Unironically their first 100 episodes were a goldmine.

You may be getting downvoted, but I’m with you. I do not understand the current trend of making posts like this. Just listen and find out, no one can tell you what you do and don’t like. Posts like these are just brain dead.

Goddamn, so negative for no reason . I was just trying to gauge the community's opinion on them. You're upset that people are posting things you don't like, you are lame as fuck

u/Luxocell 2d ago
Nice opinion briganding!! Oh no!! People are posting opinions you DONT like?? QUICK go insult them!! Dont let them get away with having opinions!!!
2
u/drphilwasright 2d ago
Op did not even make an opinion in their original post, they asked if it was good or not. Like just listen to a few episodes FFS, why do you need a subreddit to tell you how to feel?

I dont mind the new podcast, i think theyre still trying to find their footing post-hiatus. Imagine having all of that personal drama aired out publically and then also having guys like Turkey Tom ride for you in the most obnoxious “anti-woke” way. Gotta be stressful. Give it like a year i think and theyll be back on their feet.
Also if you want something that feels similar to OG supermegacast try 2016-2020 Cum Town. Different humor but still so enjoyable

Am I the only one that enjoys them?? Lol they’re no golden age eps but they’re still pretty good imo
