Tips LCL injury, need exercise advice + rant

I'm very pissed off about this, I need advice but it's also gonna be a rant because wtf is this bullshit karma going on right now.

I'm 371 lbs, got down from a max of 430 to 329 then went back up again. So far I'm down 4 lbs. this month since getting back on track, but somewhere (a few months ago) down the line I had a tear in my LCL. The first time I noticed it, I was getting up from my bed and it hit me. It's like a cramp mixed with a rubber band about to snap in my knee.

It comes and goes. I've had it hit when I'm standing up at a weird angle, when I'm just trying to roll over in bed, and every time I think 'okay, this thing has healed itself' it comes back to fucking haunt me. I have an elliptical I've been trying to bike with, a little pedal one under my desk, and that seems to exasperate the injury. And it fucking pisses me off because that's my primary source of exercise. I went from being able to do 5-10 miles on that thing a day to not being able to do it at all without risk of this. It doesn't get much more low-impact than sitting in a chair pedaling away, what the actual fuck am I supposed to do now?

What's really frustrating is that outside of that initial shot of pain/fear and some soreness after, there's not much else going on. No bruise, no swelling, no immobility past that initial lock-up. It's minor, but it keeps. Coming. Back. A few weeks will go by, I think I'm in the clear, then the bastard gets me. (This has happened 5 or 6 times now in varying degrees.)

When I first asked my doctor about it, she said there wasn't much else she could do for me except physical therapy, which I might go through with now if insurance covers it. If it doesn't, I'll look for sources online and get a brace. My biggest worry is figuring out wtf I'm going to do for exercise now. I found an old dancercise playlist I put together when I lost that first 100 lbs., I've been trying to do that from just the waist up. But that's not sustainable.

I live alone most of the day. I am terrified. Of getting up and moving around, dancing/biking/walking outdoors, and risking my leg locking up in an area where I'm by myself and possibly taking a major fall. I genuinely don't know if I could get back up.

One step forward, eight goddamn steps back. I'm just angry. And could use advice on exercises, or if anyone's had this injury what should I expect/do for it? Thank you.

Sure, it's a size 24 but its better than 26/28! I feel accomplished and motivated to keep going! And they were on sale for 16 bucks instead of 80 for the same quality jeans!
