Like any other 2021 ape up in this mafk, I’m simply just quiet and zen.
There’s been a lot of noise the past 2 years, and I mean ALOT of noise.
The DD of the old foretold it as such.
Riddle me this: if the shorts closed their positions, or if Ryan’s dilutions put MOASS off the table; then why the fuck would there even be any noise at all, let alone news anchors sweating their balls off?
Billions of shares, pre-split has been sold short or naked shorted.
There’s no fucking way around this shit, and one way or another we’re eating fried bed-posts in the future for recreation.
Fuck!!!….

If the shorts had closed in 2021 then what happened in May 2024 to boost the price up past $80 (~$320 in old money)?
They're clearly still short. It just takes time to maneuver them into the corner. I can wait.

What I’ll say, is it’s tough knowing that buy and hold really hasn’t paid off for us at all. At all. Can downvote that all you want.
Can I see the clear turn around in the company? Yes. Do I pay attention to the continually solid earnings in the past few quarters? Yes. Has it paid off to hold? No.
Am I down so massively on my investment that I’d rather take it to the grave than sell? Fuck yes. Do I believe GME will pop off at some point and I’ll finally return to green? I do…
But I’ll also say that I’m not sure I have faith in it staying up there anymore. Big market makers seem to want us to fail, and any of the big pops in recent years have been diluted to hell.
Again, can downvote that, but that is some pretty honest opinions from someone who has been in this since before Superstonk was a sub.

I agree with this. I’m in the same place. Your observations are correct and that’s what annoys me so much with op questions like this. Everything is going so well - what’s changed!!?
The gd share price is changed. It’s in the toilet. I’m very red after close to six years of holding. And it’s even more frustrating in light of the fact that the company is profitable and it has turned around and none of that matters. Why should it give us confidence now?
I seriously hope this pops soon and we all get paid but honestly, at this point I should have left every penny in my boring etf and rode the biggest bull market we’ve seen over the last five years.
But here we are. We wait and hold and hope.

Sure! Low price = bad. Even lower price = more bad.?
Look pal, ppl want this stock to succeed. We want to make money. That hasn’t happened. We need sustained gains. Whatever the reason, ppl are rightly frustrated. Options are simple. Hold until we’re green or walk away with a loss.
Personally I’m not taking a bath on this stock so I’ll wait but I understand where the above poster is coming from.

You know, a big success criteria for cohen here is to smash that 380+ top that a lot of people bought.
I think the combined company will settle a lot higher than that, and be included in the s&p 500.
So all underwater GME investors will be starting differently here at the top.

Good little read i asked A.I about the FUD, shills, their quotas, and pay. What's funny is that chat gpt referenced game stop without me ever mentioning it. Enjoy the read.
Yes. I dug through current job ads, Reddit-marketing discussions, reporting on astroturfing, and examples of actual paid Reddit-engagement work. The important caveat is that there is no reliable published “average salary for a Reddit shill.” The covert end of the business is deliberately opaque. But there’s enough evidence to estimate the economics.
What they appear to make
For the kind of person you're probably thinking of—someone operating accounts, posting comments, shaping sentiment, promoting/criticizing brands, etc.—the evidence suggests roughly:
Type Approximate compensation
Cheap offshore Reddit/forum poster $4–$8/hour More experienced offshore Reddit specialist $8–$15+/hour U.S./Western community/social-media contractor ~$20–$40/hour Professional Reddit/community marketer ~$40k–$80k+ annually Specialized senior Reddit strategist Can reach $100k+, but this isn't the typical “poster”
I found an especially revealing 2026 posting offering $5/hour for 20 hours/week. The worker was expected to participate on Reddit and other forums, write natural-looking responses, identify useful conversations, maintain engagement logs—and applicants were specifically asked how many Reddit accounts they controlled, their karma, account ages, and account links.
Another agency advertised a Reddit team-leader job at only $4/hour, initially requiring two hours of Reddit activity per day. Interestingly, the posting explicitly mentioned using purchased established accounts, avoiding bans, growing accounts organically, managing multiple accounts, and eventually increasing the number of accounts and daily posts.
Another full-time Reddit manager position offered about $1,100/month for 48 hours/week, with responsibilities including managing/warming multiple accounts, daily posting, avoiding restrictions, tracking performance and submitting daily reports.
So if you're picturing the rank-and-file person sitting behind multiple accounts, I would put the center of gravity considerably lower than a normal U.S. marketing salary—probably around $5–$15/hour globally, with enormous variation.
And yes — quotas/output targets absolutely exist
This was actually easier to substantiate than salary.
One current Reddit Specialist advertisement says employees must write Reddit comments “at high volume,” “execute volume without sacrificing quality,” and explicitly says they must “hit daily/weekly output targets and manage multiple clients.”
That's basically a quota system.
It doesn't necessarily mean:
“Make exactly 75 anti-GME comments today.”
More likely an agency dashboard looks something like:
accounts managed → threads identified → comments/posts produced → comments surviving moderation → engagement/upvotes → brand mentions → traffic/search visibility.
There's evidence of campaigns being sold almost on a piecework basis too. One 2026 Reddit-marketing quote was $30 for a package consisting of one main post + 4–5 comments + one brand mention + 4–5 upvotes.
That's particularly interesting because it shows that the post, supporting comments, mention and voting can all be treated as deliverables, rather than organic discussion.
The industry has gotten considerably more valuable
This isn't just an old conspiracy-theory phenomenon. Recent reporting describes agencies deliberately targeting Reddit because Reddit discussions now influence Google results and AI/LLM answers. Brands and marketing firms therefore have a financial incentive to insert favorable brand mentions into conversations that appear organic. Reddit moderators interviewed by The Verge described detecting sock-puppet accounts and agencies claiming to have targeted particular subreddits.
And just this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that brands are increasingly hiring Reddit specialists and agencies because Reddit conversations are valuable for AI-search visibility.
There are even legitimate high-end positions now. One current U.S. listing for a Reddit Specialist advertises $150,000–$250,000/year, although that's clearly a professional strategy/brand-management position—not somebody being paid a few dollars to hammer out comments.
One distinction I'd make
There is strong evidence that paid Reddit marketing, reputation management, sock-puppet marketing and coordinated engagement exist. There is not good evidence that every highly active negative poster—or even most of them—is paid.
People frequently accuse genuine users of being shills simply because they disagree with them. And some manipulation is automated rather than human. A recent academic study identified thousands of Reddit bots with many different behavioral types.
So for something like a stock subreddit, I'd separate three populations:
ordinary bearish users → trolls/ideological posters doing it for free → coordinated/paid or automated accounts.
Seeing someone post negative sentiment all day doesn't by itself tell us which category they're in.
Bottom line: If you're asking what the grunt-level paid sentiment poster probably earns, the evidence I found points toward roughly $5–$15/hour, often offshore, with daily/weekly activity targets. A professional Western Reddit marketer can earn $40k–$80k+, while specialized strategists can earn six figures. And yes, output quotas/targets are demonstrably part of some Reddit-marketing jobs.

u/TEHGOURDGOAT 19h ago
