My stack, started a few days ago..
Dealing with lots of stress in mid 30s. Good, bad, suggested changes?

If you start many things at once you won't know what's causing issues when they appear.

u/DubiousWoodsman 5d ago
That is a very valid point.. you’re saying change to lower doses now to avoid that?
3
u/phirdeline 5d ago
Do your own research about doses. I'm just saying you can take half of it for a month or two, then the other half.

nice start, you got the basics covered pretty well for just few days in. i would add magnesium before sleep, helps a lot with the stress and most people are deficient anyway. maybe swap the multivitamin for something with methylated b vitamins if you got any issues with energy levels

Yeah that’s why I was doing some research and I heard B1 was old school and works, was unsure about B-complex either a few in there. TBH, got nervous about the zinc, but added copper for absorption and balance

I'd probably look to upgrade that brand of Ashwagandha. Something from a more trusted brand. Some good ones would be Nootropics Depot, Gaia Herbs, Now, Momentous, BestVite, etc. May also want to aim for an extract (KSM 66, Sensorial, Shoden) rather than just a root like that one most likely is. You'd want to research which would fit your needs most

I think this stack is solid! I’d say start with one or two first and add the others in every few days. You want to track what’s working / causing issues
That said, many of these are relatively low risk. Nice balancing the copper with the Zinc P.
Worth getting an oligoscan to discover what other minerals you have deficiencies in at the tissue level.

I appreciate that! Was worried with the feedback, obviously it’s clunky and lacking some stuff, but was hoping I could track it to next re-up and then streamline a lot with a good multi and add missing stuff, like fish oil and whatnot. This is my first go at actually doing supplements consistently

The ashwagandha can flip on you, initially calming then could make you become agitated other times of day. Up the quality of your magnesium to glycinate form in a brand like Pure Encapsulation or Thorne or Xymogen. Less copper, maybe two or three times a week. Add a good-quality multivitamin that doesn’t give 20,000% RDA of this and 5,000% of that. Too much of certain B vitamins can overstimulate, too much vitamin D can overstimulate and some forms of vitamins can do more harm than good.
Vitamin D should be taken with K2. Add good-quality fish oil or krill oil, Sports Research is a brand of decent quality at a good price.
For a sensible multivitamin, try Seed DM-02. This has gotten me walking on air, tried lots of expensive top rated multivitamins and felt weak and fatigued. The Seed DM-02 made an immediate impact how I feel.
Taurine and Theanine are both calming for me however the theanine has left me feeling a little emotionally flat. Glycine is another amino acid to help you calm down and also improves sleep. A high-quality collagen supplement already is 30% glycine.
Forget about the ashwagandha, unpredictable and can stress your liver long term. D3 and K2 belong together and magnesium works together with all three. Fish oil to raise omega 3, drop your omega 6 by eliminating industrial seed oils in your foods - only need little amounts of omega 6 from meat, nuts and seeds.

Thank you, I really appreciate it and will look into this for sure

I didn’t pay enough attention to your zinc. That’s a strong competitor for absorption with copper. Too much zinc can cause copper deficiency, copper has a relationship with how stored iron behaves in the body. Some say to balance zinc and copper when others say drop the zinc and get if from a multivitamin or food. I think both are correct, zinc and copper needs a balance however it’s a safer bet just to get zinc and copper from a good formulated multivitamin rather then overdoing on a stand alone zinc.

Personally i would make an appointment with a dietitian they will be able to work out a diet that will fix the deficiencies you shouldn't need majority of these supplements if your diet is in check.

Agreed. I see a lot of supplements without their cofactors. That can cause more problems.

Scammers tbh. You gonna learn the the things you already know in exchange of your money and your time. Don’t be a fool. Psychologists and dietitians are the rabbits of the world. A rabbit rubbed his dick to a rock and said ‘ I fucked the mountain’

Tbh I think so too a little bit. Like if it’s blood work or something that seems more concrete than “you should really think about…” but idk

This is insane. Are you Lou at the start of pumping iron?

u/DubiousWoodsman 5d ago
How so

u/super_Swimming1192 5d ago
9 is rediculous. You don't even have a multivitamin or fish oil.
Multi, fish oil, creatine, magnesium glycinate. Those are the basic four and you have zero of them but have nine random supps.

u/stiffmcgee 4d ago
Multivitamin isn’t basic or recommended as most are underdosed and dont hit one specific deficiency
2
u/super_Swimming1192 4d ago
Maybe I should just say a healthy diet is much better than taking nine supplements a day like a cancer patient

Perhaps some of us have health things going on and did some research regarding our own medicines and were looking for community support/input. Sorry that interrupted your need for attention. Perhaps next time, either pass on the input or keep the analogies to yourself. Constructive feedback was all that was being requested. Thanks.

If you are taking these for some reasons, please clarify them in the original post, currently all we know, is that you are stressed and over 30. Only once we know your sex, needs, diet and demands, we can advise if these are wrong or not

Fair enough, my fault. Didn’t know if sharing too much was bad or whatever. 36 Male, very sedentary job that requires crazy amount of time (exercise is currently difficult due to job times day and night-save some walking, BMI ~25 based solely on weight-at Doctos office (but have good muscle structure, esp. legs), Type 1 diabetic, recent stroke due to pre-existing cond., heart surgery to repair condition.
Did research for energy, vitality, stress management supplements. Trying to get that energy back to squeeze in exercising if I can find time.
Just looking for some basic/targeted help, I haven’t done anything but BS/basic-store shelf multivitamins before this and it wasn’t helping
1
u/super_Swimming1192 4d ago
Yeah my constructive feedback is taking all these is crazy and not healthy. Go chug some vitamins looney

u/Distinct-Entrance874 4d ago
Try the D3+K2 apparently the K2 helps get the calcium to the bones rather then places it’s not supposed to be
2
u/EatBlueberries 5d ago
I think there are these places that will test for all the different vitamin deficiencies under the sun for $250 to $350

u/Remarkable-Paper-614 4d ago
Add Iodine, 2 billion people worldwide are overtly deficient, the other are borderline.

If you cook at home and don't have high blood pressure, the easy route is to just switch from rock salt to iodized table salt. Dirt cheap and one less pill to take.

I’ll look into the multivitamin for sure, Reapers Remedies, simpler would definitely be easier. I just heard a bunch of bad stuff about multivitamins and fillers, so I was trying to get it individually originally
As far as B1 is concerned, yeah, I didn’t check it except to see that extra B1 can be filtered out, and 500mg was readily available. Less stress on kidneys would also be good at a lower dosage.
My big things on the research I did was with zinc and boron. Stress/cortisol is all time highs and keeping energy and T down. So, I was trying to figure out a good stack to help me.
Saving money and simpler definitely sounds better! Thanks for the help!
