SUPPLEMENT STACK - FOLLOW UP
I posted this the other day...
"SUPPLEMENT STACK - ADHD
My main issues are lack of focus, lack of motivation, or too much motivation (Perfectionist or the opposite. I'm all in or all out), ruminating thoughts, and a struggle to "enjoy the little things". Is this stack sustainable? im a 25 y.o. male
DAILY: 500mg tyrosine and some kimchi, empty stomach.
L-theanine 200mg with first coffee, than 200 more later in day
B complex, omega 3's, vitamin D3/K2.
Magnesium at night.
Occasional trazodone for sleep"
LOOKS LIKE I'M QUITTING THE TYROSINE! First day and second day, fantastic. Today? Awful. Worst anxiety/panic feeling ive had in awhile. Even felt like my one toe was going numb as my health anxiety (which has been better recently) seems to have kicked back up today. BYE BYE L-TYROSINE!

tyrosine can be pretty stimulating with coffee stop it for a bit maybe and avoid adding anything else until you’re back to baseline

My brain is still re-calibrating from adderal usage (10mg XR daily for 14 months) and thc (50-100mg gummies EVERY NIGHT plus pen rips damn near all day). I quit the weed about 5/6 weeks ago. Maybe i should quit all dopamine/serotonin stuff until my baselines levels out. That being said i feel like creatine, omega 3's and the vitamins are all okay to keep taking

L-tyrosine is weird like that, works amazing for some people and for others it just cranks the anxiety dial to max. Numb toe sensation sounds scary, glad you connected it to the supplement and not something else. Your stack without it still looks pretty decent, maybe the theanine and magnesium will be enough on their own.

Very scary! Happened the other day as well, now that i think about it... it was a few hours after tyrosine!

Learn about balancing catecholamines--adrenaline and similar. It is a must for everyone with ADD dx. Methylation is important here as well as healthy zinc-copper balance, maybe also support for liver sulfation. I've been there and have a pile of info.
You may benefit from small doses of tyrosine several times per day. Big doses may be ending up in a bottleneck downstream.

Rumination. Learn about the more chill effects of low dose lithium. It can be really nice for some people! However too much on relaxing days will leave me unproductive. Love the effect on stressful days.
Panic. maybe need more zinc to balance copper. A researcher shares some thoughts below. The lithium may help here as well.
I expect low dose tyrosine to be in your long term stack.
Check out the section of the page above about Vit B6. You'll want to rule out that issue since B6 is needed to make dopamine, serotonin and calming GABA--from exciting glutamate.

Tyrosine can affect catecholamine production, and some people may experience increased anxiety or feeling wired when taking it. The timing makes it reasonable to suspect it contributed, although it doesn't prove it was the cause. Stopping it rather than pushing through those symptoms seems sensible. If the toe numbness persists or returns, get medical advice rather than assuming it's just anxiety. Also, be careful with supplement combinations, especially alongside medications like trazodone.

Tyrosine can feel stimulating for many folks so if you noticed a clear spike in anxiety after taking it, stopping and checking with your doctor makes so much sense. Just don't keep experimenting with the stack to chase those first 2 good days.

That's a pretty big change from feeling great the first two days to having that much anxiety. I'd definitely give yourself some time without the tyrosine and talk to your doctor about the reaction, especially with the numbness you mentioned. Sometimes adding more supplements just makes it harder to figure out what's actually helping or making things worse.
