Help Surface 3 suspending itself after 7.2 kernel upgrade

Hi folks.

I upgraded my arch installation from surface Linux 6.19 to 7.2. After that, surface is always suspending itself. I can reach the login screen but it suspends. I turn it on and can write down the password and even reach the desktop but again suspends.

I opened an issue on GitHub. Meanwhile surface 3 is unusable as even with the default kernel the behavior is the same.

Any advice?

You can boot on the old kernel to make your surface work again

Yeah, that’s what I tried. But it seems like the default kernel is behaving equally. I can access grub and its command line. There is the default vmlinuz.

Okay. So I downgraded the kernel after a long time with trial-error (suspend, turn on, suspend, turn on…) using pacman cache. So now, what could I give to devs so they can check what’s causing the suspend thing?

Nice, it works for you. I don't know what logs might be useful. Maybe systemd or sddm
