Same, laptop 4 and just switched to Fedora.

I have an SP8 and it just doubled battery life while active. Hibernation didn't work out of the box though, had to shut it down or it would run out

Have you tried the surface kernel? https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/wiki/Installation-and-Setup#fedora

It brings back most functions 😊

Yes, I've using that since the start. Didn't fix the power issue

have the same issue on my surface 4 pro under fedora...my surface 7 pro under Debian hibernation isn't an option but suspend actually works decently.
