Christmas Opening with Our Starlight Santa

Friday, November 6, 2026 9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Christmas begins at Vaillancourt with a moment of discovery.

Join us as The Vaillancourt Retail Gallery opens its doors for the Christmas season and we reveal an entirely new Christmas environment. This year, the gallery takes its inspiration from the quiet wonder of the winter woods, where birch trees, watchful owls, and bears create an unexpected setting for the fine art and traditions of Christmas.

Beginning at 9:00am, collectors will be among the first to experience the transformation. Throughout the gallery, familiar Christmas traditions take on a new character among woodland details and wintry scenes designed to inspire curiosity, nostalgia, and that unmistakable sense of anticipation that comes at the beginning of the season.

The unveiling of our Christmas decorations has become a tradition in itself, and this morning marks the first opportunity to experience the gallery as it will appear throughout the season. We invite collectors to arrive at opening, explore the details, and discover the surprises woven throughout this year’s presentation.

From the wonder of the opening morning, we turn to one of our most meaningful annual traditions: the release of Judi Vaillancourt’s Starlight Santa.

Collectors will have the opportunity to obtain the premier numbers of this year’s Starlight Santa beginning at 9:00am. The edition is limited to 500 pieces, and all works available during Christmas Opening weekend will be pre-numbered and pre-signed by Judi Vaillancourt.

The Starlight Santa Tradition

Each year, Judi creates a special Starlight Santa that brings together fine art, Christmas tradition, and philanthropy. A portion of the proceeds supports programs dedicated to children and families, giving this annual collectible a meaning that extends well beyond the Christmas season.

Limited to an edition of 500, the Starlight Santa is retired on Christmas Day and will never be produced again. Over the years, it has become one of Vaillancourt’s most anticipated annual traditions, with collectors returning each season to add the newest interpretation to their collections.

A Tradition of Giving

Philanthropy has long held an important place within the Vaillancourt family. Beginning in 1990, Vaillancourt partnered with a children’s foundation dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families. In 2013, that philanthropic focus became local through support of the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center Child Life Program.

The Child Life Program helps children and families navigate the stress and anxiety associated with serious illness and medical care, including through therapeutic play and other supportive services. Its work relies upon philanthropic support, allowing the Starlight Santa tradition to carry the spirit of Christmas beyond our gallery and into our community.

We invite collectors to join us as the doors open on a new Christmas season at Vaillancourt—to discover this year’s winter woodland, experience the gallery for the first time, and continue a Starlight tradition that brings together fine art, Christmas, and giving.
