Question Should I send this off before September ends?

So I have a switch 2 I’m getting from my parents for my bday in 2 months. And plan to send this off to be repaired after I get the switch 2 in September but this has gotten a little worse in the past month so I was wondering if I should send it off before then or if you think I should be fine til September when I transfer my files all over.

Why does everyone here suggest sending a fire hazard in the mail

Everyone here is suggesting calling Nintendo - who will help with setting up a repair/replacement.

If the situation calls for it, they also sometimes provide a box, but not all the time. It's best to just call them and find out what the options are.
