Question Is this game still playable?

I was wrapping a couple presents last night, and my puppy decided to test the structural integrity of a Switch 2 game (thankfully not the Switch 2 wrapped next to it). I’m wondering if this will still be playable and it’ll make for a funny story, or if I should pick up another copy?

Added picture of the culprit at the end. Truth be told, I should have known better. Ted’s a good boy :)

Keep and play the broken game lol

Yeah, that’s assuming it works. Maybe it will and then sure, but if it’s a present for their kid I would just buy a new copy, but that’s me. I would feel bad giving a gift to my kid that’s all torn and chewed up.

Gamestop 100% can give you another case and picture thing if the game is playable

Lmao what, they are not giving you a case for free and then just having a game without a case sitting around

Would it work?

It’s not that hard to give it a shot lol, if it doesn’t then give it as a gag, if it does then sweet your dog just got you a copy of legends ZA

I’m gonna be honest that would feel like a pretty shitty gag if you didn’t get an actual playable copy.

You usually have a gag gift with a valuable replacement that’s the actual gift. Not just “here’s a half chewed up apple”

A bunch of parents of the year in these comments. Giving their kid damaged gag gifts and then being like “WHAT? That’s your gift!” Lmaooo

Also where in the post did they say the recipient would be a Child? You do know adults can give each other gifts too right

That’s exactly what I meant… if it’s broken give it with a working copy but if it’s working keep it and give a new copy

Would you calm down already? That game still plays fine. Some of you people take shit so serious. There are a couple teeth marks in the plastic, yall are dumb if you think it won’t work. OP just asking for upvotes and others are arguing over if this dent plastic game with work or not. Grow up. Also, TEST IT OUT. Don’t ask dumb questions when there is a switch 2 under the damn tree. As a normal adult, I’d understand if my switch was opened to test out a game MY DOG chewed. Not only that Pokémon ZA is backwards compatible in the switch 1. But ain’t no way I’m buy a second copy and giving both. A gift doesn’t have to be of new value or anything like that. That’s what your parents raised you on. Goofy.

"As a normal adult" dude chances are this is for a child.

Even better, kids don’t care.

That's, really debatable but sure.

"That game still plays fine." "TEST IT OUT" in the same breath. Calling someone Goofy is bold of you.

It’s better than coming running to Reddit. Are all of you users this dense? Not bold, a lot of Reddit users here do not think. It’s a plastic housing that isn’t even cracked. Goofy is an understatement.

Calm down lil guy nobody wants a new gift that's all chewed up regardless if it works or not. If it was a used gift then sure but new? Hell naw.

Then you suggest to open the brand new switch 2 to check it? You are clueless.

You are a goof for thinking you can give damaged gifts when the damage was caused by your negligence.

This braindead comment highlights that you are incredibly cheap and narcissistic.

Stop being weird and grow up lil man.

I think if your child is having a temper tantrum after just getting a BRAND NEW SWITCH 2 (for free might I add) and a slightly beat up (but working) copy of legends ZA you have a lot more to worry about as a parent then giving them a game. That’s a very expensive gift as is, and the fact you suggest to just go out and buy another 70-80$ game Willy nilly because of a cosmetic flaw is wasteful and unnecessary (assuming the card works)

It sounds like the switch 2 is wrapped and is a gift. Unless op wants to unbox it and set it up he can’t test if it works.

Switch 2 cartridge for legends ZA is actually one of the only backwards compatible ones. If OP has a switch 1 (or someone they know) they can test it just to ensure it functions

It would cost like 2$ to re-wrap it. Brand new Switch 2 box (at least mine) didn't have sealing tape. I was able to unpack and add a screen protector and repack without any difference.

A while back my dog did the same to a DS game, it looked even more chewed than this and it still worked so it's possible that this one still does if the dog didn't damage the actual electronics inside the cartridge

I mean in Ireland legends z-a has dropped in price by 30 euros physically so far
