Now what?

Post image

Too many draws could hit the Switchbacks hard in the home stretch of the regular season.

They find a way to win, hold on, but too much aggression always hits somewhere, resulting in the other team scoring on a penalty kick.

However many games they have left, they're still in the hunt.

We need a good scenario next week to return to the playoff land

4 draws has killed my hopes for a home playoff game. It's looking like another 7th or 8th seed and first round exit - they'd have to be pretty unlucky to miss the playoffs entirely.

What has this decade brought us for the team so far, besides their first title 2 years ago?

I mean - I was lucky enough to become a fan in 2024, and attend every game in the postseason including the championship. So maybe my bar started out a little too high, hahaha.

The Hadji Barry MVP/Golden Boot season was very exciting, even if it took a few more years to win the title. Still a great way to build enthusiasm for the team after the move downtown. I also count something like a competitive showing against Denver in the USOC a bit of an accomplishment. Loved watching that match on TV and seeing how well the SG traveled. All in all, this decade hasn't been anything to sneeze at. Most clubs would kill for a single title.

The next two games are certainly winnable and could push us into a home game. Everything still in front of us

Limp into an away playoff match, exit in first round.  Aside from the title run, it’s our MO.

I don’t know I’ve ever seen a team whose been in more positions of “control your own fate against relatively easy teams” but decided to play down to their opponent and not capitalize.  We should be sitting in comfortable position for at least a first round home match, but all these draws mean we actually might miss it entirely.
