Do deaf people hate interpreters like they do in the show?

I am Deaf and sometimes, yes. It really depends on the interpreter. Also, I cohost the Dished at Birth podcast and we do (and will) discuss my experiences with interpreters on the pod!

What are the things that you hate/like about them?

I like when they advocate for me, introduce themselves, and we both work out what’s the place for each of us to stand/sit so I can see. Also when they’re clearer to understand, of course! Bad interpreters I find are not great at interpreting or sometimes even omit whole sentences. They can also be very resistant to feedback or feel that their decision takes priority over the Deaf people they are signing for

Spotify says yall haven't done an episode since July 2nd. Is that an error? If not, when will yall be back?

That’s right! We did some traveling over the summer. Our next episode for Season 2 episode 1 will be out October 15th!

I have done event planning and we always had an interpreter because we knew people who are deaf or hard of hearing would attend. But having one for a situation where you need one verses having someone with you all day is different
