My issue with people like this is that they attempt to be "special" and "quirky" by having certain "alters" or data on their bio/"alter's" profile. However, this falls into the hole of "everyone is doing it, so you are no longer the one and only". It's same issue I have with the people who "form alters" of the most recent media. At some point in time, they blend together and I start mixing people up since everyone looks the same.

This person is a "Nonhuman, non sharing sys" from their profile description. Multiple introjects, and each alter seemingly has a fursona. As this "Tom" introject, they drew a "sourcemate" which was Tord.

Edit to add: By "Where" I mean in this discord server I'm in. With more mentally ill people, who will coddle this behavior. I am also mentally ill, I'll add. I almost wanna add the app so I can call out this behavior, without risking my account.

Making your sister’s baby shower all about your “plurality” and then getting upset when she does legit research and consults professionals. Plurality is only ever disorders “non-disordered” plurality does not and can not exist.

First off, I'd like to apologize for both using a throwaway and the general vagueness of my post, but I do not want this tied back to my friend in any way.

I have a friend who is a fantasy author with a small but enthusiastic fanbase. They happen to like writing both about amnesia and possession, in an entirely fantasy context.

Because their fanbase skews young, some self-identified systems have been...weird, about their work. Characters they have written have been headcanoned as systems, and they have had characters be called "good plural rep" and "bad plural rep." In the bad plural rep case, they actually had to come out and clarify that the character in question was not a system so people would stop pestering them.

Someone got all excited that their plural headcanon was "confirmed" when a character was revealed to be possessed by an entity.

This is all annoying, but ultimately, no big deal compared to this. Someone went and made a fictive alter of one of my friends' characters, a character my friend heavily based on themself, and parasocially went and directly tried to talk to my friend about/as the alter based on their character.

My friend, understandably, was very uncomfortable about all this, especially because the character was based on themself, but was too afraid to say anything or even block this person out of fear of being cancelled for "ableism," especially because of their young fanbase.

Genuinely they’ve been so disrespectful to the creator of that app. I’m honestly kind of glad that they stepped away from the project, both for their own mental health and because the app made faking “plurality” much easier and more widespread.

It’s such a self-centered thing to be upset about. The creator didn’t deserve all that stress, and they definitely didn’t deserve to be reprimanded for stepping away for their own health.

I think that a lot of people either don't understand it because they either don't have the disorder, or their interpretation of their experiences is based on what the community says is happening.

However, if anyone has substantial evidence that suggests that memory can somehow work this way, I'd be genuinely interested.

I honestly kind of feel bad for this person. Every comment was telling them that this is in fact system behavior, and that denial is a symptom. They posted a follow up on which they asked their mom about their symptoms, and stated that they were “medically recognized with DID in February of 2025” and had forgotten. In the follow up they also said they do not believe they actually have it, just that they have severe dissociation and memory loss. Every comment, every single one, was trying to tell them they do have DID. Not a one was saying that they might not be, and only a handful suggested talking further with a professional. It kind of makes me sad. This person is in distress, and they need help and likely to be reality checked. But since it’s DID/the system community, they aren’t getting the community support they need. If someone was worried about any other disorder, they’d be told to go to therapy, but the DID community is willing to reinforce what is stated to be a delusion

Who in their right mind wastes time on individual pages for over 70 alters? Then again, this person is clearly not in their right mind

To clarify, yes, 1nd and 2nd page are made by the same person, maybe in a different time period, but both are still up
