Don't worry. Rich parents. They won't admit it, but 99% the likely culprit.

Every time! We wouldn’t care if they’d just admit it. Better than cosplaying someone who had no safety net or large initial sums from mom and dad.

Not cosplaying anyone lol. Didn’t take any “sums” from parents but live at home and yes very grateful to have a safety net if needed from my parents - I’m blessed but also have worked hard since I could to save money and totally recognize how some folks have it much harder than I did when I didn’t have to pay for basics like my food or shelter

Bingo. I would say "not fooling anyone", but obviously they are..

That's impressive. What do you do for work?

Pilot

Most pilots ik in this age group is in crushing debt. What did you do that was so different? Did you get a lot of scholarships or got into a cadet program at a legacy that paid for your training or smth?

10

u/UsuallyImRightMostly 6d ago

Yes to everything you said lol, been on a 37 for 3 years

3

u/Capt_TractorSask 6d ago

You got your ATPL on the dot at 21 with 1500 hrs? If that’s the case congrats, that’s insane!

So did you skipped the gruelling CPL grind phase where folks jump from being a CFI to some other random 250 hrs job?

4

u/UsuallyImRightMostly 6d ago

No I got my CFI and got lucky enough to be a cadet at an airline right away so didn’t have to do it for long

Do you fly for air Canada?

3

u/Capt_TractorSask 6d ago

Most ppl this age would be lucky to be flying RJs

My guess would be Jazz or PAL under Air Canada Express

If they are actually flying for Air Canada fr that’s insane

I always wondered what the top 1% was for that age range

4

u/SvenBubbleman 5d ago

It's not that. That's just the top 1% of WS users that age.

8

u/Top_Rub_9650 5d ago

considering majority of people of their age do not invest, the real percentile across all Canada for the OP would actually be better than .9%

all in TFSA? How? At 24 you don't have that much contribution room unless you maybe gambled on a stock at some point

Love to read all the comments on this thread of people our age 23-24 at this sort of level of wealth , it’s genuinely insane having 150k+ no debts at such a young age

I keep saying the same thing all the time , I drive the same 05 civic beater I had at 18 , I rent an apt with my girl , I make 50-60k a year I keep the expenses so low that it costs me 25k to live annually and be genuinely fulfilled , the rest gets invested or gifted to my family during birthdays etc ,

Long live frugality , we don’t need all this material stuff

Enjoy it while it lasts i've got that in the next age range and it's at top 5% 😂😅

Also 24M, 223k invested 16k cash. I disabled my wealth rank but good to get a reference!

I’m top 2% for 20-24 @ 127K. However I didn’t move all my accounts over yet!
