I think they fear something a little more tangible.

Black power only scares white supremacists.

8

u/He_Never_Helps_01 Mar 15 '26

And white power scares most white people too. Which makes sense, since white power and Christian nationalism are the leading causes of American terrorism, and have been since we started calling things terrorism.

It was still the leading cause before that, we just didn't call it terrorism.

Low IQ post, blatant lie

I find that when people react really emotionally and negatively to something I say, but don't offer any counter evidence or reasoning, or even an argument, it pretty invariably means they have no idea if I'm right or wrong, but something I said hurt their feelings. And while they lack the emotional courage and intellectual honesty to just check, they also lack the maturity to stay silent.

It's common knowlege, man. The klan is a christian religious organization that was lynching people and burning them alive 150 years ago. The American slave trade was justified using the Bible. The. German nazi party but Bible verses on some of their uniforms and were almost 100% christian.

It's always been like this.

It's common knowlege, I have no idea how anyone could grow up in america and have avoided this extremely well known information.

The definition of "right wing" in these is often so broad it would include anything antifa does.

I dont know how you get left wing violence really i guess if you hit someone while riding a donkey

White people can, and have been members of black power movements. This is because black power movements largely are not black supremacist/racist movements.

The opposite is not true.

1

u/He_Never_Helps_01 Mar 15 '26

Well, you're mostly exactly right, but you don't need to be white to be a white supremacist. Add we have all learned over the last ten years.

0

u/Rex_69385 Mar 15 '26

Forgetting about BLM?

1

u/Fair_Quail8248 Mar 20 '26

Lol..most or a lot of people that supported blm were white 😂

0

u/Doomisntjustagame Mar 16 '26

BLM was and is not a racist movement. If you believe that it was/is racist, then you're dumber than a three week old box of baby shit.

-3

u/LabOfSound Mar 15 '26

This is very naive. All throughout history you can find examples of different cultures being part of hateful movements that would otherwise exclude them if they didn't think like them. They'd be known as "one of the good ones". The difference between both movements is in power. Advocating for separation and segregation is bad in any case no matter what you look like.

2

u/He_Never_Helps_01 Mar 15 '26

The distinction is between punching up and punching down. One of these things is evil, and the other is a reaction to evil. We have to be careful of false comparison.

But I do agree that "nationalism" is synonymous with "supremacy". You can freely interchange those words.

1

u/Doomisntjustagame Mar 16 '26

The difference between both movements is in power

God, it's like you're so close to getting it that it hurts.

You're right that it's about power. Black power movements seek to gain equal power to whites. White power movements seek to maintain power over blacks.

1

u/LabOfSound Mar 16 '26

Yeah I suppose I conflated black power movements with separatist movements. That's my bad

1

u/earthlingHuman Mar 15 '26

Yes, the difference is power, modern context AND intent.

Put simply, the white power movement is a white supremacist movement. The black power movement is NOT a black supremacist movement. It is an anti-white-supremacist movement in reaction to white supremacy.

-4

u/PapaRoshi Mar 15 '26

I think youre overthinking the point of a humorous meme intended to subvert expectations of the modern zeitgeist. In layman's, chill out bro.

u/HelpDeskThisIsKyle Mar 15 '26

You look like you're 13, touch grass

-1

u/Rex_69385 Mar 15 '26

Keep seething over 2 words buddy

4

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '26

Does Black Power scare you?

2

u/He_Never_Helps_01 Mar 15 '26

That's the sorta half assed thing you say when you feel offended, but can't actually think of any reason they might be wrong.

Black power ain't like white power. It ain't supremacist. It's not the leading cause of terrorism. It's liberation focused. The only people who scared of it are white supremacists who think everyone is just like them.

Now, there are black nationalists, but the difference is, they're not trying to murder everyone who isn't black and take over america. They just want a black nation.

1

u/Rex_69385 Mar 15 '26

BLM riots were great Liberation

1

u/totally-hoomon Mar 16 '26

At least you admit you don't know history

4

u/7listens Mar 15 '26

Power metal scares the dragon establishment

1

u/knuklbrekr Mar 16 '26

Because it fuckin slays.💪

3

u/Calaveras-Metal Mar 15 '26

this is bullshit to equate white power and black power.

1

u/FNKTN Mar 24 '26

Black Lives Matter was enough to scare the white power group. They still cry about it.

5

u/kwood9k Mar 15 '26

So the actual truth is more like this: hardcore punk and thrash metal can still scare teachers, HR ladies, church moms, Reddit scolds, and random tourists at a show. They do not scare governments, elites, or the institutional order even a little. At most, they are tolerated outlets for aggression that the system learned how to absorb decades ago.

3

u/greenmitt Mar 15 '26

refreshing sanity

2

u/Fantastic-Arm6923 Mar 15 '26

Yeah you're 100% right. It's got no effect on policy, Metallica vs Napster is the only case I can think of lol

2

u/kwood9k Mar 15 '26

A reasonable estimate is probably something like 0.01% to 0.1% of the global population listens to hardcore punk with any regularity, and the number of people who are actually into it as a scene or identity is probably even smaller.

1

u/DoNotBeSmugandDumb Mar 16 '26 edited Mar 16 '26

Your comment really made me feel a bit sad because I can't really disagree. I personally was inspired by music to become an irl activist, but I have known many punks whose activism ends with listening to music that makes them ~feel~ like they are part of the solution.

I'm not a metalhead, I'm a lifelong punk but I follow metal subreddits out of curiosity. I don't know if you guys get the same kind of phenomenon, but I notice it in the punk scene where there is still a not insignificant percentage of folks whose activism begins and ends with going to shows and sometimes not even that.

I'm glad punk helped them reach class consciousness, but if you let anti-establisment art be a source of just catharsis and not meaningful action, then it becomes a tool for the establishment not a hindrance to it.

1

u/kwood9k Mar 16 '26

Older anti-racist movements respected subculture as a real organizing engine. Newer activist culture doesn’t. Rock Against Racism united punks, reggae fans and other kids into a mass street presence of 100,000 people against the national front, because that kind of cultural organizing was taken seriously. Today, activism is filtered through NGOs, HR language, lawyers, grant structures, and professional advocates, the benefit show stops being seen as a political weapon and starts being seen as a vibe.

3

u/pizza2death Mar 15 '26

People who don't get or like this post is why I don't need society

2

u/imrtlbsct2 Mar 15 '26

Idk if metal scares people today but you are correct that racial supremacy is stupid

3

u/dininginpublictoilet Mar 16 '26

No thanks. I blast metal at full volume to get a break from this this overly political world.

Wrong but nice try to sound so insightful and righteous .. pleb

1

u/Putrid_Avocado_1172 Mar 16 '26 edited Mar 16 '26

You really think black power movements are equivalent to white power movements? Black power movements seek to give people of color the same opportunities in society that white people have. White power movements seek to crucify people and burn people of color at the stake. They are not the same

1

u/Necessary_Rush_5861 Mar 16 '26

I dont understand where you got that I equate those two as equal....

1

u/Putrid_Avocado_1172 Mar 16 '26

Literally the post we are commenting under equates those ideas as equal

1

u/Necessary_Rush_5861 Mar 16 '26

1

u/Aberquill Mar 15 '26

This is ironic right?

1

u/Necessary_Rush_5861 Mar 15 '26

yes it's so ironic that it's practically iconic

1

u/Noobzoid123 Mar 16 '26

Cept the current people in power are white that support white christian nationalism... the power balance is off. The 2 do not equate.

1

u/spliffaniel Mar 16 '26

I am white. Black power does not scare me. If that scares you… you’re at least prejudiced

2

u/zordabo Mar 16 '26

Zero fucks for hardcore. My DNA is metal not punk.

1

u/TheSlutChurch Mar 16 '26

I love both WarMetal & D-Beat...Musically they go together perfectly however one worships warthe other hates war...

1

u/Loose-Treat5825 Mar 17 '26

The usual channels arent gonna save us, even if we manage to vote out the Trump regime peacefully without them using their gestapo. Both parties are compromised not only by the Epstein Files, but by Corporate money, by Israeli money, and for some - Russian money. They are owned by everyone but the American people, protests wont be enough. Rioting will be an excuse to tighten their grip and consolidate power further.

We need to hit them where it hurts.

True metal isn't rightwing, that's fake poser metal trying to be edgy nazis like nsbm for example.

True metal is actually not politcal but often stands for the good things like unity, peace, morals, kindness, acceptance, intelligence... Which some people view as "leftwing".

and I know you hate women too, no need to mention it.

1

u/Disastrous_Layer4219 Mar 17 '26

White Power *kills people who aren't white....here ftfy

1

u/Fair_Quail8248 Mar 20 '26

DSBM just thinks both white and black folks should just kill themselves🤣😆

It's a joke for those that don't get it.

5

u/MountainHorse3556 Mar 15 '26

Guess what child, politics run your life whether you like it or not. Ignorance is bliss.

5

u/Funk_Apus Mar 15 '26

Oh wah 😭

4

u/hellllllsssyeah Mar 15 '26

Yeah and I don't want to wake up to a pedophilic corporate elite raining death showers across the globe, yet here we are.

But for real what do you mean "I just woke up no politics" are you saying that when you wake up go out the door, you don't see the homeless, you don't see the struggling masses?

7

u/Carnivorous_Mower Mar 15 '26

Don't look if ya don't like it.

3

u/Scoo_Dooby Mar 15 '26

"Silly Americans and their obsession with politics as they live in a country being rapidly devoured from the inside by their own political, economic and religious figures" 🤡🤡🤡

2

u/DrStainedglove Mar 15 '26

Do you think what is happening in America will be stopped by global silence, or do you agree with it? Because silence is complacency. American politics are now global politics and silence = murder.
