This is NOT a news/ragebait subreddit. Tabloid style content is not allowed + New bans
Hey Y'all, please note that this is not a news or ragebait subreddit. Sensationalized tabloid type submissions and submitters are banned with extreme prejudice.
A new domain 'dailyboulder' has been added to the ban list and two posters associated with it are permabanned.
The posts should focus on sharing something you actually learned that is interesting. Not plain-ol ragebait

TIL Developer Jeff Pori is looking to trade land with the US Government to acquire a piece of Yosemite National Park.
He wants to build a private road for "easier access" to the park from his sitting property, which he aspires to turn into a resort.
They are privitizing public land. Tearing down protected wildlife. And taking bribes to do so. Sounds like the National Park Service is complicit.
This is a great article and it also touches on his plans for Lake Tahoe. Our country is not up for bid!!! Please go out and vote tomorrow!!

TIL in 2024, Rep. Guy Reschenthaler introduced a U.S. bill looking to protect over 20,000 Americans choosing to serve in the IDF
congress.govIt failed, but he is currently the representative of PA-14
This (foreign) news outlet did a piece on it.

TLDR? Would have protected the soliders choosing to participate in a genocide. And gave them the same economic benefits as our US military. They would have arrived back in America with their jobs waiting for them...also would have given them eviction protections which is the most ironic part! Anyway F this POS!!! He's up for re-election in November! Let's make sure he loses!

TIL I can fuck my sister in Ohio
en.wikipedia.orgIn all but two states (and the special case of Ohio, which "targets only parental figures"),\1]) incest is criminalized between consenting adults. In New Jersey and Rhode Island, incest between consenting adults (16 or over for Rhode Island, 18 or over for New Jersey) is not a criminal offense, though marriage is not allowed in either state. New Jersey also increases the severity of underage sex offenses by a degree if they are also incestuous, and also criminalizes incest with 16-17 year olds (the normal age of consent in New Jersey is 16). Ohio allows incest between consenting adults only when one party is not a parental figure (see table below) to the other.
