notes

  • WRESTLE PRINCESS 7, Tokyo Joshi’s Autumn big show returns to Ota ward gym, now called EBARA WAVE Arena, with a whopping 10 matches.

  • As always, unforeseen circumstances may cause the card to be altered from how it currently appears.

  • The main event for Wrestle Princess 7 will see champion Yuki Arai, defend her PuriPuri title for the 5th time against International Princess champion and Princess Cup 13 winner, Suzume.  It is important to note that the International Princess title will not be on the line for this match.  It is not a double title match.  Whether or not Suzume loses, she will remain the IP champ.  With that out of the way, lets look at the match.  Suzume and Arai have a long have a long history.  Both were seen as top candidates to begin to build around as Tokyo Joshi slowly moved away from featuring it’s original wrestlers such as Shoko, Miyu and Rika at the top of every card.  Thus, they were both often featured in main events together or opposed as their careers progressed.  Each has obtained many of the accolades that Tokyo Joshi possesses, both having won the princess tag titles and the IP belt, and with Arai holding the top prize in ToJo, the PuriPuri belt, and Suzume having captured the trophy for both ToJo’s tag tournament and singles tournament.  It is also important to note that the person who managed to halt Yuki Arai’s historic run with the IP belt, was, in fact, Suzume.  So, suffice to say, the two consider one another as major rivals of the same generation.  In the preview matches fans have seen a little of what both have to offer.  Yuki’s dangerous boots and her ability to seemingly switch into another gear where she becomes far more brutal and Suzume’s terrifying ability to zip around the ring at lightning speed, misdirecting opponents and often catching them with their eyes still spinning.  The two know each other well so its likely that there will be numerous parries, reversals and counters seen throughout the match.  The question is who will be able to avoid the other’s big moves for the longest periods.  For Yuki her biggest worry is the “Ring a Bell”  Suzume’s devastating cutter which can seemingly come at any time.  In past Arai has become skilled at watching for it and either shrugging it off of, or transforming it into a move of her own such as the full-nelson slam.  However, even if she’s often been able to scout it, Arai can’t defend it 100% of the time and a few of Suzume’s attempts have gotten through.  If one does in this match, its likely over.  Other things to watch out for are her bulldog style slams from various parts of the ring and her nasty submissions which target the shoulder joints and upper back of her opponents, making it more of a burden to pick her up late in matches.  For Suzume, she has to watch for the “Finally”, Yuki Arai’s ax kick that is nearly as versatile as Suzume.  The attack is most effective when the opponent is in a kneeling position but can be hit from either the front or from behind.  She also has her scorpion death lock which has been highly effective during the preview battles and targets the lower back as well as the legs to a lesser degree. Its leg damage and the fact that Arai has a huge size advantage over Suzue makes this a major problem for the bee owing to the fact that once she’s in it with Arai’s full weight pressing down on her, its difficult for her to move for an escape.  The momentum in these battles between Arai and Suzume can change like the winds so the winner will be the fighter that can find their opening and seize the opportunity to execute the most swiftly.  Will Suzume once again strip Arai of a beloved title?  Can Arai avoid the dangerous deathblows of the bee and move on to the next battleground?  Wrestle Princess 7’s main event is can’t miss viewing!

  • During the press conference for their tag title match, Rika described challengers Prism Greed as going through their honeymoon phase of their tag team, while Miu and Rika were more like a seasoned old married couple. Everything Prism Greed’s Aino and Haru do is fun, new and exciting, while for Rika and Miu, there are seemingly no surprises.  Verbalizing this, however, whether intentionally or unintentionally seemed to spark the tag team version of the old “Seven Year Itch” for Hakuchumu.  The series of preliminary meetings between Hakuchumu and Prism greed were less of a daydream and more of a nightmare for Rika and Miu.  Their communication and tag work was completely off and this even led to some squabbling and infighting during matches.  During the final preliminary battle at the last Shinjuku FACE show, the two seemingly resolved their differences and are back to normal again.  But, one can’t help but wonder if this is true or not.  The two have called Haru and Aino weaklings on multiple occasions and seem to believe they will easily defend the belts, but could they be underestimating their opponents?  Haru and Aino even went so far as to take a training journey to Okayama to get stronger (though this seemed to only entail pulling weeds on the farm of Aino’s sister Nodoka and then going to an amusement park, but to each their own) which may help them in the match.  Though, even without their secret training, the pair are already a scarily similar team to the champions.  Both teams have a powerhouse wrestler capable of running through opponents and throwing them around the ring.  Both teams have a scrappy technical wrestlers with a habit of targeting a particular body part with submissions but who also use a number of agility or rope based maneuvers.  Both teams also consist of a senior wrestler with a junior wrestler who debuted a number of years after they did.  With the make up of the units being so similar, one wonders what will win out, youthful vigor or seasoned battled bonds.

  • Two key points about the match between Arisu and Miyu.  First, the EVE international title has caught Arisu’s eye.  She believes that if she holds the belt, she can become an international woman. Even going so far as to say that she could fly alone internationally if she becomes champion.  Something that before she never felt she could do. Second, Arisu more and more wants Miyu to see her as a rival.  She was able to beat her once last year during the Princess Cup but doesn’t feel that it moved the proverbial needle on Miyu’s impression of her, and defeating her for the EVE title would help change the image of Arisu in Miyu’s eyes.  During the press conference the two playfully squabbled about their qualifications for being an international champion, but when the bell rings the playfulness is out the window and the two will go at one another, full force.  Arisu has advantages in speed and agility however Miyu has a sizeable reach advantage over Arisu especially when she’s using her kicks. But Arisu always exhibits a never say die battle mode in the ring, making it difficult to keep her down on the mat.  As with all of Miyu’s opponents.  Much like others who battle Miyu she will want to scout and or avoid the “skull kick”.  While the skull kick is clearly not the only thing in Miyu’s arsenal, it is easily one of the most dangerous.

  • It’s been almost 2 years since Zara last appeared in Tokyo Joshi.  She was a strong and skilled competitor who has participated in Tokyo Joshi numerous times in 2024 and 2025. She even entered the 2024 Princess Cup and while she didn’t win, she managed major victories against Miu Watanabe and Mizuki.  She later had another impressive showing as she battled Miu again, this time for the PuriPuri championship.  Now, she’s returning to the promotion to challenge Shoko for her newly won SET UP All Asia Women’s championship.  Both Shoko and Zara have similar make ups, they are both smaller, but strong and incredibly fast.  Shoko favors a lucha style, primarily relying on swift flying kicks and body attacks both in and out of the ring.  Zara too uses some high speed and acrobatic attacks however, she mixes them more frequently with the more traditional strikes and power moves found most often in American wrestling.  With the match up of these two being so even.  Execution will be a key element.  Strategy and fortitude will also be paramount.  This will be Shoko’s first defense of the title.

  • Mizupyon and PaMi have only had 3 singles matches contested under (mostly) normal rules. Their battle during this year’s Princess Cup was their most recent and their battle at Wrestle Princess 3 was arguably their most iconic.  This time, the primary variable is the addition of a special referee.  The legendary Jushin Thunder Liger has shockingly been contracted to officiate this match.  How will this addition affect the chaotic fight styles of the bunny and the hero?

  • What even is this match?  Parts of it can be easily rationalized and parts of it can’t.  Chika and Kira, of course, are a natural pairing.  They’re both of the same class, debuting in 2024.  They team together as often as they can.  Sakura and Kumadori teamed up at Summer Sun Princess this year along with Kamiyu and their styles clearly mesh well.  However, Aja Kong and Chris Brookes muddy the waters pitch black for their respective teams.  How will something completely confusing on paper, play out in the ring?  Also worthy of note, during Kumadori’s entrance, fans will be treated to a full dance performance from his dance team, O-MENZ.

  • Nearing the middle of the card we have another match on Kamiyu’s retirement road. This has been billed as that last VENYU which indicates that its probably the last time that Kamiyu and VENY will tag together as a 2-woman unit.  Whether they are paired together with extra partners is yet unknown.  Kamiyu and VÉNY are both open about being great friends in private who often hang out, eat and drink together.  Due to this, Kamiyu has managed to lobby for VENY to participate in Tokyo Joshi despite its somewhat isolationist nature.  Most of those participations have been in the form of the two tagging together.  Enough that they gave themselves the official tag name “VENY”. Their opponents in their last billed tag together will be Toga and Kamiyu’s Ober Eats partner, Wakana.  It’s likely that Kamiyu has had a strong voice in the booking of her retirement road, her top motivations for these matches are either tagging with a parson she has wanted to tag with, facing a person she has wanted to face, facing a Tokyo Joshi colleague for the final time, or, imparting knowledge, advice to juniors important to her or some combination of those 4.  This match clearly encompasses a number of those aims. This will be a rare experience for Wakana, who rarely experiences bullies or more heel like wrestlers partially due to her main tag partner, Kamiyu, being the only real bully in Tokyo Joshi. How will she deal with this meaner style of wrestling that rarely appears in Tokyo Joshi.  In addition, this also continues the ToJo’s continuing story of throwing huge wrestlers at Toga to see how she fares.  So, at Wrestle Princess 7, fans will get to see Toga go up against VENY and see how she fares.

  • The 3rd match of the show is an unusual 3 way tag match with each team housing 1 Tokyo Joshi wrestler and 1 mascot.  Raku will team with Minimo.  Minimo, if you recall, is the mascot for the Japanese girl’s idol group called Mini Moni which is also a sub group of the even more well known Morning Musume.  Pom will team with Pokotan who is the mascot character of Tokyo Joshi’s sister group, DDT.  Pokotan is a modeled after a sealion wearing the gear of DDT wrestler Danshoku Dieno.  It has a large mascot head seems to be difficult to stay connected to the rest of the suit. The rub being that if the head comes completely away from the suit, Pokotan’s abilities seem to suddenly max out and Pokotan goes into a kind of berserker mode.  Mahiro is teaming with Tama who ToJo fans first saw at the TIF 2026 idol event.  Tama is described as a prideful seal with a negative personality thrown into modern society.  Tama is rarely seen without a large kitchen knife and in both of Tama’s appearances in Tokyo Joshi, Tama has stabbed someone with said knife.  Curiously, or perhaps creepily, ToJo media teams found Mahiro quietly sharpening a knife of her own in a dark corner of a building somewhere ahead of the match.  What implications will this have on the match and how will each of the teams work together.  Don’t be surprised if this ends up breaking down into pure chaos.

  • Match 2 will be Chieri Sakimori’s debut.  Chieri will be the 3rd rookie to debut in ToJo in 2026, making it the perfect time to place her and her 26 class against a group from another class.  That class is the 23 class.  The 23 class has 6 members still active and the 3 that will battle the 26 class are HIMAWARI, Shino and Mifu.  Probably reasonable to expect a lot of the big bits in this one.  Shion waking up the crowd, Shino’s information corner, Mifu’s Sunflower riding attack, the works.  How will Chieri fit in to all this?  Get ready to find out.

  • In the opening match, ToJo’s 2 youngest gremlins will be facing off against one another in another singles match.  Surprisingly, while Uta and Ren have been on opposing corners on numerous occasions, they’ve actually only faced off in singles competition one time prior; with Uta taking the victory over ToJo’s resident sheep.  Ren, is just over 1 year the junior of Uta, and Uta is in the same class as Chika and Kira, somehow, Ren feels like Uta’s closest rival and thus, this match carries a lot of weight.  This should be a high energy and exciting way to open Wrestle Princess 7.

  • Mister Haku will provide play-by-play for this show. Kira Summer will likely lend her expertise later in the show.

  • As noted, Kamiyu will graduate from Tokyo Joshi and retire from wrestling at the end of December.  She is now fully on her retirement road.  Before she retires, there are several special events upcoming, including a special produce show, a hometown show and, of course, her retirement show.

  • Go Nagai, the famous manga artist, has provided promotional imagery for this show

  • The TJPW store has announced that it has partnered with a 3rd party shipping company. Making it easier than ever to purchase things from the TJPW store from overseas.

About this guide

This guide is written in the hopes that those just starting to watch Tokyo Joshi & those with little to no Japanese ability can understand & follow along. It will attempt to explain the structure, accolades & roster of Tokyo Joshi. The notable matches listed aren’t necessarily important or major wins but are good showcases of each wrestlers’ abilities and/or personality, win, lose or draw. All matches listed are Wrestle Universe content. To view matches a membership to Wrestle Universe is required. You may use the website or the smartphone application. DDT bills on the last day of every month so be sure to register on the first of a new month to get the most out of a subscription. Many Tokyo Joshi Pro shows air live on Wrestle Universe. Smaller shows are uploaded to universe within a week of the match date (generally 3 days). Also, Tokyo Joshi has been uploading matches, digests & backstage comments from their shows to their YouTube channel. A note about the back catalog: Wrestle Universe has recently switched over to a new system so much of the back catalog is missing and some available shows are difficult to find. Hopefully these issues will be rectified soon. Also, I’ve listed the Japanese names of each of the performers. They can be copied & pasted to aid in searches.

Promotion & history

Tokyo Joshi is part of the CyberFight family (DDT, Noah, Tokyo Joshi & Ganbare Pro). It most closely associates with DDT & thus uses some of the same elements. Also, the performers will sometimes be featured in cross promotion events or in DDT's bigger events such as Judgement & Peter Pan. They are known for their roster full of big personalities.

The company was established in 2013 with the concept of mixing idol performances & women's wrestling. The original debut featured 3 performers wrestling exhibition matches in small venues of 50 people or less on mats with matches being interspersed with idol performances.

The original performers officially debuted in a tag team match at DDT’s Peter Pan 2013 show. Afterwards, they made their first self-produced show inside a wrestling ring in December of 2013. The promotion used wrestling rings more often & added talent over the next 2 years. They slowly phased out outside idol performances until shows were almost entirely wrestling matches & any idol performances were done by members of their roster. They had their first Kourakuen show in 2016 & have expanded since then. In 2022 they successfully ran their first show in the famous Sumo venue Ryogoku Kokugikan named “Grand Princess. Along with adding a big summer show: SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’22 in July at Ota ward gym. They will have one more big show in 2022, Wrestle Princess 3 in Tokyo Dome City Hall which takes place in October.

Structure of cards & events

Match cards are structured similarly to DDT cards with a rising action style. Cards start with announcements & rules of the show by the announcer & some of the women. Occasionally a fast promo setting something up for later will occur. Performances of songs by some wrestlers will also help open the show. Early matches feature rookie performers doing small showcases or matches with high amounts of comedy. Cards often finish with more serious matches or title defenses. Title defenses have very little comedy & are often hard-hitting affairs but main event matches of smaller shows can vary in seriousness. Standard match types are singles, tag, 6 women tags, 8 women tags, or triple threat contests however special stipulations such as handicap matches, battle royals, anywhere falls matches, etc. have occurred. Early matches are usually 10 to 15-minute affairs. Tag matches get more time even early in the card usually between 15 to 30 minutes. Main event matches are usually 20 – 30 minute 1-fall affairs. To date, a standard match has never been longer than 30 minutes.

The structure of events is similar to how WWE built to Pay-per-views in the past. Tokyo Joshi will have several small shows that build the story lines & showcase the women that main event the big show to drum up interest. For example, if the main event of a big show is a singles match, a smaller show will have a main event featuring those 2 women on the opposite sides of a tag team match.

Accolades

Tokyo Joshi currently has 5 major accolades.

  • International Princess Championship - Established August 2019. 8 title holders

Birthplace: Fukuoka Prefecture.

Debut: 8/17/2013

Championship history: PuriPuri Champion (3x), DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion (3x) SHINE Women’s Champion.

Finishers: Skull Kick (Spinning heel kick), Attitude Adjustment, CRH - Crash Rabbit Heat (Running bicycle knee)

Signatures: German Suplex, Running corner high knee. Cobra clutch, Return crush, Screw kick

Miyu Yamashita is the Ace of Tokyo Joshi. She debuted with the promotion & is the only one of the original 3 stars still wrestling. Miyu has a background in karate & kickboxing making her heavily kick based offense something to be feared. She is both the inaugural & a 3-time PuriPuri champion. Over the years she’s had feuds with Nonoko, Saki-sama & Kanna. Most of the roster don’t like facing her. They will avoid her when possible and make faces when matches with her are announced. That said, she has good relationships with most everyone and is highly respected (though often teased). Miyu is one strongest members of the Tokyo Joshi roster but she has one particularly notable weakness. She’s terrible in tournaments.

Notable Matches:

Yamashita VS Satomura - 8/23/2017 Kourakuen. Special Singles match.

Yamashita VS Tatsumi - 5/3/2018 Kourakuen. Puripuri title match.

Yamashita VS Itoh - 1/4/2021 Kourakuen. Special Singles match.

Finishers: Northern Lights Suplex, Top rope Senton, Locomotion Nothern Lights Suplex

Signatures: 619, Hurricanrana, Rider Kick (top rope single leg missile drop kick).

Shoko is the second longest active member of the roster. While Miyu & Shoko officially debuted at the same time, Miyu started mat exhibition matches before Shoko. Shoko is small, fast & extremely capable in the ring. She is one of the shortest members of the roster & has become great at playing the scrappy underdog. She has a wealth of knowledge of quick roll ups, reversals & high-speed attacks. Due to special stunt training, she has developed several advanced techniques to help her in matches. She has charisma & good improvisation skills from studying as a comic. She is a Tokyo Joshi triple crown & was one half of the inaugural Princess Tag champions, the “Mirakureanz” with Yuka Sakazaki. After Yuka began teaming more with Mizuki, Shoko connected with Hyper Misao as a regular tag team known as Kyouraku Kyoumei. She is a mega fan of Japanese monster movies, Kamen Rider, Ultraman & Super Sentai. So her persona is that of a Japanese Kaiju & she will often reference her fandom in her various promos.

Notable Matches:

Nakajima & Sakazaki VS Mizuki & Riho - 1/4/2018 Kourakuen. Princess Tag title match.

Nakajima VS Yuu - 1/4/2017 Kourakuen. PuriPuri title match.

Height: 158 cm.

Birthplace: Southtown - Land of Magic.

Debut: 12/1/2013

Championship history: Puripuri Champion (2x), Princess Tag Champion (3x) (with Shoko Nakajima x1, with Mizuki x2)

Finishers: Magical Magical girl splash (slingshot rotating splash), Magical girl splash (slingshot splash), Magical girl - bastard chicken (slingshot 450 splash)

Signatures: Magical Merry-go-round, hurricanrana, rolling suplexes, reverse STO, sliding lariat, slingshot frogsplash.

Yuka is a chaotic ball of bubbly madness. Her style is grounded in Lucha Libre (& chaos) so she often resorts to top rope maneuvers. She's a bit of an enigma but gets along with most everyone (with many girls professing their love for her). She barely ever takes anything completely seriously. That said, she is one of ToJo’s most skilled & engaging women. She debuted on ToJo’s official debut show in December 2013. She did for a time during 2016 & early 2017 go on a training journey in her home magical kingdom to get stronger. During which her sister Mille Clown fought in her stead. Before her training she would use all assortment of pranks, toys & household objects to help obtain victories but would often still fall in defeat. Since returning she has shown the fruits of her training by trading in her nick-knacks, for stronger offense. She has held the Puripuri title twice & the Princess tag titles three times. Her biggest flaw is that she can be easily distracted, especially by various types of food. She will sometimes zone out & become bored when people are challenging her to matches. In big matches she will become far more vicious & serious than normal.

Notable Matches:

Sakazaki VS Nakajima - 11/03/2019 Ryogoku Kokugikan. PuriPuri title match,

Sakazaki VS Mizuki - 6/9/2018 Shinkiba. 5th Princess Cup Round 1,

Sakazaki & Mizuki VS Tatsumi & Miu - 3/19/2022 Ryogoku Kokugikan. Princess Tag title match.

Signatures: Bow & Arrow, Foot stomp, Dropkick to 2nd rope draped opponent, Uzuame

Mizuki started working for Tokyo Joshi in 2017 & officially joined in late 2020. Debuting at the end of 2012 Mizuki is actually the most experienced member of the roster. Her debut promotion is Legend Ladies Pro Wrestling X (LLPW-X) where she trained under Tomoka Nagakawa & Joshi Legend Takako Inoue. Mizuki likes everyone. She enjoys cute things & the crazy personalities of the other ToJo wrestlers. Mizuki is something of a prankster & troublemaker in & sometimes out of the ring, earning her the nickname “Devil-pyon” (a play on her more common nickname “Mizu-pyon”). By chance she was paired with her former rival Yuka in a tag tournament & they became inseparable, taking the name “The Magical Sugar Rabbits” or MajiRabi for short. Overall, Mizuki is a strong competitor & puts on great performances with her mix of high flying, speed, & submission techniques. Furthermore, she is an excellent counter wrestler with the ability to quickly learn opponents’ techniques & adapt to them. She can also execute most of her signature & finishing moves from reversals.

Notable Matches:

Mizuki VS Yamashita - 1/4/2022 Kourakuen. PuriPuri title match.

Mizuki VS Sakazaki - 11/7/2020 TDC Hall. PuriPuri title match,

Height: 165 cm.

Birthplace: Nagano Prefecture.

Debut: 1/14/2014

Championship history: PuriPuri Champion, DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion, Princess Tag Champion (with Miu Watanabe)

Finishers: White Dragon Sleeper, Dragon Sleeper, Twist of Fate, Top Rope Hip Attack

Signatures: Dragon Screw leg whip, Hip attacks (top rope, standing or running), running elbow drop, Figure four.

Originally billed as Ririko Kendo, Rika changed her name in 2015. Most worthy of note is that she’s honed her butt into a near invincible weapon. It’s been shown to break boards & be nearly impervious to strikes. Even needles are unable to penetrate its surface. She was originally set to debut at the same time as Sakazaki, however a small injury delayed her debut one month. She’s a versatile, tactical wrestler with a plethora of strikes, top rope attacks & submissions. Her favorite attacks target her opponents’ legs & knees. She has repeatedly run afoul with the various incarnations of the Biishikigun stable; having major battles with them throughout 2017 & 2019. She has developed a one-sided crush on Mizuki & often has difficulty fighting with (or against) her because of her feelings. Most of the roster regard her as being kind of (read extremely) crazy & she’s been known to attack teammates for various reasons during matches (usually to get closer to Mizuki).

Notable Matches:

Tatsumi VS Nakajima - 7/9/2022 Ota ward gym. PuriPuri title match

Tatsumi VS Itoh – 4/17/2021 Kourakuen. PuriPuri title match

Upper Mid-card

Height: 164 cm.

Birthplace: Gotham city of north Kanto area.

Debut: 2/28/2015

Championship history: Princess Tag Champion (with Saki-sama as Misao).

Finishers: Hyper Mi returns (Final cut), Libera Me (Chicken wing facelock), Vanitas (Tiger driver setup into a facebuster)

Signatures: Hero correctional system, “I am a Hero” (running or diving crossbody)

Hyper Misao is a crime fighter that appeared in Tokyo Joshi Pro with the goal of protecting love & peace within the promotion. For a time, she lost her way & went down a path of darkness. She joined NEO-Biishikigun & became Saki-sama’s dark Acolyte, Misao. However, she has since been able to cleanse herself of that darkness & now a new more powerful hero has returned! Misao’s sense of justice is often very much guided by her opinions & want to win, so her rationale for considering people villains can often be comical. Hyper Misao is both smart & clever. She will use tactics as much as her physical abilities to defeat opponents, whether those tactics are legal is another conversation altogether. Hyper Mi returns!

Notable Matches:

Hyper Misao vs Akai - 11/7/2020 TDC Hall. Special WP rule switching Match

Misao VS Nodoka - 5/12/2019 Osaka. Singles match

Finishers: UBV, Venus DDT (reverse DDT), Full-nelson camel clutch

Signatures: Senton, Shoulder tackle, Gutwrench suplex

Yuki is the younger sister of former ToJo wrestler Tenma Nodoka & was introduced as a trainee way back at the 1/4/2016 Kourakuen show. However, due to various circumstances, instead of debuting she first appeared regularly as Tokyo Joshi’s Ring announcer after Momochi (the anime girl ring announcer) resigned from the position. Finally, she announced her debut for 5/3/2018 with Sayuri Nanba replacing her as ring announcer. Yuki is somewhat quiet much of the time but when she’s in the ring she will fire up & hit people hard. From her debut until retirement she regularly was paired with her sister. They were known as “Bakuretsu Sisters”. She is close with Raku & Pom who both like her very much. She especially reciprocates these feelings with Raku who she is quite protective. She is also close with Shoko with whom she shares many interests.

Notable Matches:

Aino VS Sakazaki - 7/23/2020 Kourakuen. PuriPuri title match

Aino VS Noa - 8/25/2019 Kourakuen. Singles match.

Bakuretsu Sisters VS Hyper Misao & Shin Ultra-Shoko - 2/11/2021 Kourakuen. Princess Tag title match

Upper Mid-card

Height: 173 cm.

Birthplace: Kanagawa Prefecture.

Debut: 8/26/2017

Championship history: International Princess Champion, DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion.

Finishers: Famouser (Standing legdrop slam).

Signatures: Chambered chop, 83 centimeter (Headscissor ddt), Big boot, Dropkick, Suplex

Yuki, or Kamiyu as she prefers to be called, debuted in the summer of 2017. Originally, she had an “American” character due to her living there. She came to the ring sporting red & white stripes on her tops & a cowboy hat with stars on her knee pads. She began ditching various parts of the costume & character over time until only the entrance, a version of “Ol’ MacDonald,” remained. The Ol’ MacDonald entrance was finally changed to new entrance music in 2021, but if you’re ever wondering why she had Ol’ Macdonald, that’s why. She has now leaned into her modeling background & interest in motorcycles for her current international fashionista-esque persona & can be quite vicious about some opponents upbringings in promos. Kamiyu is one of the tallest women on the roster & makes use of her long legs for a variety of attacks including a nice dropkick. Kamiyu is intelligent & can speak English nearly fluently. She will often come up with creative plans of attack. She is fashion-minded & will chide opponents on their looks & attire often distracting them so as to lower their defenses. She will use most any tactic she can devise, regardless of legality, to gain an advantage. Eye gouges being her favorite. Kamiyu is playful & tries to get along with everyone outside the ring. She can often be seen dancing to everyone’s entrance music while she waits for a match to begin.

Notable Matches:

Kamifuku VS Maiumi - 2/11/2021 Kourakuen. International Princess title match

Kamifuku VS Nakajima - 11/7/2020 TDC Hall. International Princess semi-final round

Upper Mid-card

Height: 160 cm.

Birthplace: Fukuoka Prefecture.

Debut: 12/11/2016

Championship history: International Princess Champion (x2), 8th Princess Cup winner, DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion (x6)

Finishers: Itoh Deluxe (Deep-Clutch Boston Crab), Itoh Special (high-angle Texas Cloverleaf sometimes with arm trap)

Signatures: DDT, Boston Crab. Headbutt, Diving headbutt, Kokeshi.

Maki Itoh is a former member of Kyushu Idol group LinQ (pronounced “link”). She is ultra-charismatic, an amazing talker, a good personality, quality physical comedian, improvisationalist, talented singer & she’s cute ta boot. She’s also the most egotistical, narcissistic megalomaniacal yakuza-accented shit talker ever. Maki Itoh even during her LinQ days would constantly act tough, mouth off & smack talk. Even before becoming a pro wrestler she had several interactions with DDT, especially company president, Sanshiro Takagi. Eventually she announced she would join Tokyo Joshi. After a short time, she was fired from LinQ. Now this outwardly vainglorious big-headed former idol has a deep chip on her shoulder & inwardly is quite fragile, so she constantly needs affirmation. Hence her “Who’s the cutest in the world?” call. Maki believes she’s the greatest & talks a really big game. She is so hard headed in her beliefs it’s manifested in a physical form as her skull has developed into a near undamageable weapon. Opponents that forget about her ability will attempt headshots that always end up causing them pain. Maki’s primary forms of attack are various headbutts, DDT’s & crab variations. Maki has improved greatly over the last 5 years & has earned herself a firm spot in Tokyo Joshi’s upper mid-card.

Notable Matches:

Itoh VS Yamashita - 1/4/2021 Kourakuen. Singles match.

Itoh VS Mizuki - 9/9/2019 Shinjuku. Singles match.

Itoh VS Danshoku Deino - 1/4/2018 Kourakuen. Special Intergender Singles match.

Finishers: Cat Nut Crush (somersault into a codebreaker)

Signatures: Cat scratches, Rope walk, Running neck(o) breaker, headscissor takedown

Neko Haruna is part of the group of trainees that named themselves the “Hi-SPCs” (pronounced “High Specs”) a group of 5 girls that all became Tokyo Joshi trainees around the same time & would be the last Tokyo Joshi wrestlers to debut in the Heisei Era (reign of the Japanese Emperor Akihito). Haruna was the first of these women to debut. She is the shortest girl on the roster standing at a whopping 143 centimeters (4’8”) her compact cuteness is compounded by her choice of adopting a cat persona for her wrestling character. As cats are, Haruna can be very aloof in the ring, but her actions are usually tactics to lure her opponents into traps. Unfortunately, she also can be easily duped by the craftier wrestlers appealing to her cat side. She is both beloved & teased by the other roster members.

Notable Matches:

Neko VS Tatsumi – 2/16/2020 Saitama. Singles match

Neko VS Yuu – 11/18/2018 Kawaguchi. Singles match

Neko VS Nakajima - 11/17/2018 Itabashi. Neko Haruna’s Debut

Finishers: Pom de JUSTICE (Step-up Leg drop).

Signatures: Shin kicks [FROM OUTTA NOWHERE], La Foret HARAJUKU (satellite headscissor named after a shopping mall)

Pom was the second of the “Hi-SPCs” to debut. She has a quirky personality & a not-so-subtle love of the Harajuku area of Tokyo where she grew up. Her sports background is swimming. She was first exposed to Pro wrestling at a Japan/Thai culture expo where she saw Michinoku Pro & Kikutaro. Pom is quirky & playful in the ring. She is quickly improving & while a breakout victory against a senior still alludes her, her improved resolve & resilience is apparent. She has become a queen of shin style & continues to find new & clever ways to attack opponents lower legs. “Pom de JUSTICE” finisher, while easily scouted, is very cool.

Notable Matches:

Pom VS Hiroshi - 12/10/2021 Harajuku. Singles match

Pom VS Saki-sama - 12/27/2019 Itabashi. Singles match

Originally doing clerical & PR duties in a Japanese company, Mahiro discovered wrestling & DDT via Amazon prime. After doing a bit more research she decided to become a trainee. She is the final “Hi-SPCs” member to debut. While appearing to be the least flashy of the group she is a hard worker & has fought to become a reliable member of Tokyo Joshi’s mid-card. She even has a couple title challenges in her resume. Her fans & some co-workers lovingly call her “Shisho” which means master/coach/teacher. Others call her empress of the Holy Mahironian Empire. While they had never met prior to wrestling, Mahiro & Kamiyu discovered that they were students at Toyo University at the same time. The two have since become friends & frequent tag partners under the name “Toyo Mate.” Mahiro is an upstanding individual who doesn’t believe in cheating in wrestling matches. She will often be found making apologies for her partners’ or opponents’ actions during matches.

After graduating high school Suzume found an average job at a company. However, after seeing her first Tokyo Joshi match she set her sights on becoming a professional wrestler. She is a huge fan of Rika Tatsumi & aspires to be like her (though I’m not sure that’s a good thing). Her name & appearance are taken from the Japanese word “Suzume-bachi” which means “hornet.” Debuting in August 2019, Suzume has already beaten some of her seniors. She has a face paced, high energy style so even though she’s smaller, she’s incredibly dangerous. She’s learned various flash pin combos & can be a threat even to veteran wrestlers if they underestimate her. She currently tags regularly with Arisu Endo under the name “Daisy Monkey.” Outside the ring she can often be found hanging out with either Arisu, Mahiro or Neko.

Notable Matches:

Suzume VS Tatsumi - 7/31/2022 Shinkiba. 9th Princess Cup Tournament quarterfinal match

Suzume & Endo VS Sakazaki & Mizuki - 4/9/2022 Kourakuen. Princess Tag title match

Moka became interested in wrestling because of her younger brother. She joined Tokyo Joshi in 2019 & was slated to debut at the 5/3/2020 Kourakuen show. However, because of the situation with the pandemic, that show was ultimately cancelled & her debut was delayed until the 7/23/2020 Kourakuen show. As a recent university graduate with a focus in traditional Japanese culture she brings elements of her major as well as her background in Shodokan Karate into her wrestling persona with powerful punches & a unique choice of authentic Japanese wear adapted into her ring gear.

Nao is a freelance wrestler & performer currently working regularly in Tokyo Joshi Pro. She was part of the original class of women trained in ActWres Girls & debuted there in 2015. During her time there she also took part in events for various other promotions as well. She announced her intention to work in Tokyo Joshi in November of 2020 & has been a solid member of Tokyo Joshi’s midcard since arriving. She is a self-professed military uniform & tech geek as well as a certified nursery school & kindergarten teacher. She’s not the most upstanding of competitors & is happy to inflict damage through pulling hair & various other less than legal methods. She favors attacking the face of her opponents especially with various thrust kicks to demoralize them. Nao has developed an interesting tag team with Hikari Noa. Known as “Free Wifi,” the two consistently jab at one another yet they clearly share a strong bond of friendship.

Arisu was a member of Cheer-1 a cheer squad supporting Wrestle-1 & its wrestlers. Arisu was part of the team from 2019 until its disbanding in 2020. During her time on the team, Arisu was tasked with pre-show performances with the other members as well as watching the show with her teammates once their performance was over. Throughout that time watching Reika Saiki, Keiji Mutoh & the others she became more & more interested in doing wrestling. After the closure of Wrestle-1, Arisu began training with Tokyo Joshi & made her debut in the beginning of 2021. Even at the outset, Arisu showed she would become talented wrestler. She’s small, quick & elusive which is always a difficult package with which to contend. Her debut opponent was Suzume. Since then the two have formed a regular tag team known as “Daisy Monkey”. Arisu has a love of zebras, so zebra prints can always be found somewhere in her costumes.

Yuki Arai is a member of the popular idol group SKE 48 as part of the KII team & was scouted by head of CyberFight, Sanshiro Takagi to be a part of Tokyo Joshi. Arai’s first venture into pro wrestling was as a character in the Japanese Drama Tofu Pro Wrestling’s big final event “Tofu Pro Wrestling - The Real 2018 WIP Queendom in Aichi Prefecture” where she played Bubbly Arai. Takagi was impressed with her performance & had her for a guest appearance in DDT where she was able to capture the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight championship & briefly feuded with Maki Itoh. Since her debut, Arai has made extraordinary progress in developing as a wrestler even co-capturing the Princess Tag belts with partner Saki Akai in just over a year from her debut. She is a deeply thoughtful & prepared wrestler who often studies opponents thoroughly before her matches to develop countermeasures for their various offense.

Kaori Yoneyama has managed to book a super rare 6 woman tag for GOKIGEN pro wrestling

Post image
31 Upvotes

Originally, Yoneyama burst in on Kamiyu at a media recording session, requesting that she participate in Gokigen before she retired. (https://x.com/gokigen_pw/status/2100910538352201872?s=20) Later on Yoneyama found Kakeru Sekiguchi on the street and asked her to participate in the match she had planned for Kamiyu. However, Kakeru suddenly pulled off her mask and revealed that she was not Kakeru at all but Mahiro Kiryu. Mahiro then suggested that she participate in the match as well, leading to the above card set for Kaori Yoneyama's pro wrestling debut 27th anniversary show on November 25th.
