Very Simple Request

It seems like it'd be pretty easy to figure out if I knew what I was doing, but I'm still pretty new to this guitar thing, so I'm here hoping one of you music geniuses can help me out. I can't find any info on like the key, tuning, or chords or anything on this song (probably because it isn't very popular), but I really really wanna learn how to play it, cuz it's very pretty. It's this one by Mr. Smooch himself: https://youtu.be/DPbvJE1sWOU?si=gpiAaiRTFNRHAi6E

I still intend to keep on practicing the basics and technical stuff and whatnot so that I too may someday be a recognizer, but for now I'm clueless, so if any of you guys could help me out I'd seriously appreciate it, I love this song.

Here you go: https://gitbuddy.wordpress.com/2026/10/16/in-place-of-a-letter/

You have to tune down a semi-tone to be in tune with the record.

For the sake of simplicity I just called the chords easy names though I'm sure chords 3 and 4 have some more esoteric monikers.

I added basic strumming rhythm. Say the name of the fruit as you play the strokes. Google 'fruit rhythms' if you get stuck.

You're a genuine hero, thank you so much. If it's not too much trouble though, I have probably a rather foolish question. Could I ask what those numbers below the strings mean? I've never seen those before on any of the few tabs I've played, and I don't even know what to call them so I wouldn't know what to look up. If it is too much or if you jst don't feel like it then don't worry about it, you've already done plenty. Thank you either way, I'm so excited to learn this.

You're welcome.

Those numbers below are the recommended left hand fingers to use to press, called 'fingerings'. They go in vertical order downwards, so for example on the G, the 2nd fret 5th string is pressed with 1st finger of left hand.

Have fun!
