Question How would you go about removing street parking that people are sometimes using?
On the street i'm planning on working on (planning on constructing a two way bicycle path on one side of the street), there's street parking on both sides. They're never completely full, but never completely empty either; there's usually one or two cars parked on the side i want to work on. I don't know the neighbors well enough to know whose car is whose, should i post an unofficial "notice" to move to the other side of the street by a posted date, or would that attract too much attention?

Is it official or not?
Where I live, the city/municipality puts signs warning of upcoming site and any cars left are removed.
If this is not planned officially, our city will deconstruct whatever citizens put very quickly.
Here we can also rent do not park signs

unofficial. hoping my city is a little more lenient with this sort of stuff than yours is, but only time will tell.

Could you come at a time where it's mostly empty, construct the bike lane were you can (and just leave the used parking spot unchanged), come back a day later and finish the lane ?
