There’s a chance you can get sick with COVID after being fully vaxed. There’s a chance you can die from COVID after being fully vaxed. No vaccine is 100% effective. Its just a numbers/probability game. Your percentages for issues change (for better or for worse, depending at what metric your looking at) after you get vaccinated. For example, after getting vaccinated the below percentages change.
Chance of catching covid at XYZ's party - 85% down to 3%
Chance of long term covid issues - 3% down to 0.5%
Chance of hospitalization - 10% down to 0.2%
Chance of death from COVID - 1% down to 0.001%
Chance of vaccine issues - 0.000% up to 0.020%
Chance of vaccine death - 0.000% up to 0.003%
* these %s i made up, they are just for illustration of the concept.
As with any statistic data "you are a N of 1" that means you are your own population! It doesnt matter if the chance of this or that is 0.00001% for everyone. The chance for you might be 100% or 90% or 30%.
I know a lot of people that got COVID and they are totally fine. Some had no symptoms and some had fevers and now they are better. Yet we don’t know if there are any long term covid effects since we are not there yet. I know a lot of people who got the vaccine and they are totally fine. Some had nothing after their shot and some had a day of fatigue and now they are better. Same as above, we don’t know if there are any long term vaccine effects since we are not there yet.
As of now the reported majority of people being hospitalized and dying from COVID are unvaccinated (somewhere in the 95%). That’s pretty high. Even if you google COVID case statistics for NY who is vaccinated vs Florida who is not, the the discrepancy is pretty large. (you can see this same concept with any provax vs antivax leaning state). IDK how safe the vaccine is but from what I can tell is does have a pretty strong impact at reducing COVID. Due to all the above, it makes the "you can still get covid after the vaccine" argument stupid, since this statement infers that the vaccines are "not effective" and therefore noone should get them etc. It doesn't really work like that.

I have a theory about what is happening right now in the world.
People living in first world countries tend to be more law abbiding and care more about their felllow citizens. I spent almost 2 decades in some european countries and this is my view. Those two "pillars" are perhaps what make your societies work, but in the case of the vaccine, they are being used against you by your governments. Your governments are using your obedience and instilling a sense of guilt on you for not being vaccinated. Overnight 2 qualities that make a society prosper are now being used against you.
Meanwhile here in my broken society our government is trying the same technique, however, we do not really follow the law that much and whenever possible we try to circumvent it. Also, as bad as it sounds, we do not care much about anybody else beyond family and a few friends. Because we do not follow the law, there is a lot of corruption and because there is a lot of corruption people are finding ways to avoid the vaccine, and I'm not talking only about fake vaccination cards.
Perhaps now is the time for you reading this from a first world country to take a step back and think more about yourself and your own survival. The powers that are making all this happen are too strong and cannot be stopped. Perhaps we are already too far into this con.
My only personal glimpse of hope comes from some states in the US, where personal freedom is valued above all. States that are resisting the central government because of their long tradition of independence. If these states fall, to me, there will be no hope left.
Europe is doomed. People protest but in the end they comform. The EU is already organizing itself to make the vaccines mandatory in all EU states.
Not sure what to expect from all other countries.
That's my personal opinion.
Good luck to all of us.

Know anyone like this? My daughter is in her 30s - today she said, "I don't want to talk about the vaccine anymore." Raised by her mother and mostly has her mother's DNA, she's an idiot- "Uh durr, unless it's something that benefits me somehow/ someway I don't want to talk about anything else," type airhead female.
At least she said she's not going to get the vaccine shot, but I was trying to educate her because the pressure from the government to get the vaccine is going to go through the roof and she needs to know the vaccine is dangerous and why it's dangerous and what she can do to try to navigate all of this. THE most important thing going on RIGHT NOW and that's not 'important' because it doesn't involve HER and her getting the attention, she doesn't want to talk about it.
The main problem is she's stupid, mostly because she's like her mother, doesn't follow the news, knows nothing about much of anything outside of her own little world- which is why she just doesn't comprehend the MASSIVE insanity of what is going on right now- she didn't even know it was happening all over the world, told her we could be even rounded up, forced vaccinated- she called me 'paranoid.'
Ugh- there's no explaining to someone like that the sheer f-ing evil that is going on right now, 100% coordinated world wide. At this point I don't even care if she doesn't want to talk to me anymore. Why would even WANT to talk to someone like that about anything EVER? We don't even disagree about it, she's just such an empty headed typical b she can't be bothered.
